Watch Pro Photographers Try to Shoot with a $22 Bunny Camera
In a bit of a call back to the classic DigitalRev TV “Pro Tog Cheap Camera Challenge,” YouTuber Jessica Kobeissi enlisted one of her professional photographer friends for a special photo challenge: get the best possible campaign/editorial photos using only a $22 bunny camera. Hilarity ensues…
The
victimcontestant is Detroit-based film photographer Vuhlandes, the model was Bianca LaCroix, and the camera they were using is this little gem you see here:
You can see it for yourself here, but the specs are… ummmm… nothing to write home about.
In the cons column: it’s only 12MP, you can’t zoom, you can’t change lenses, you can’t adjust exposure, and there’s only ONE microSD card slot. In fact, you can store up to 50 photos on the camera without a card, so you could say this is a zero card slot camera.
In the pros column: there are 28 “funny filters & stickers,” it’s drop resistant, and there are “built-in puzzle games like Tetris and Snake.”
Sadly, Tetris and Snake didn’t play any role in the photography challenge (missed opportunity?) but Vuhlandes and Kobeissi did their best to work within the extreme limitations they were given and capture something that looked somewhat “professional” in just 5 minutes.

I have accidentally found film photos i have made of these kids and maize in Shoushi, Artsakh. First I did film photos, then to make sure, i have them, the digital one. Then, I had an impression, that film photos have been spoiled and have had published only the digital version. The third photo was made with canon 450d, pentacon 28mm lenses on a crop sensor. I have already published it somewhere on this or my Armenian language stream, I believe. The first two photos are on black and white film, Kodak CFT (which is not a film for photography, but for the medical purposes), and Mamiya-ZE2 with 50mm lenses, and that camera, unfortunately, leaked light.

again, not sure which one is better. probably the second one.
apparently, x100’s shutter wheel can turn by itself, it’s not steady, hard to twist, as on older film range-finders. i didn’t notice that shutter was 1/30 at the moment, thus the smeared picture.

this nicely designed city is empty. streets are empty. courtyards are empty. there are only signs of recent presence of kids. when i was at vanadzor in summer, there were a lot of kids in newly opened kfc branch. now kfc was also absolutely empty.
i guess kids went to school. in russia, where their parents work. they came to their city in summer to see relatives and grands. this also expraitn why they’ve been written something on garage in russian.
