i would like to share some photos from the exhibition, and the book, by Gagik Haroutiunian. I’ve already shared this one before, but this photo is of a better quality. or may be not.
so, the photo is called ‘president’, and dated 1991. however, we can see the flag of armenian soviet socialistic republic, and obviously it’s 1990, atd LTP was not a president yet, he was a speaker.

i have learned an interesting way of developing b/w film.
first of all, you don’t need to buy a developer, like d76 or rodinal. you can make a better developer yourself. (:
for that you need: solution number zero:
Dilute this in one litre of water.
solution number one:
Keep the film for 7 minutes in the first solution, then 7 minutes in the second solution. if you feel you need more details in shadows, then keep up to 15 minutes for the second time.
what is important, and what distinguishes this process, from d76 is that you never can “spoil” the negative. whatever ISO is it, however long you keep the film in the fluids, it will “expose” what is on the film, but it won’t go beyond that. I even got to know how does that work chemically, but i cannot explain that myself.
this solution is also known as Kodak D23, or “hungry development”.
By the way, you don’t need to buy a “Stop bath” solution as well. Just get %5 solution of Acetic Acid and dilute it in one litre of water. That’s your stop bath. (:

I have accidentally found film photos i have made of these kids and maize in Shoushi, Artsakh. First I did film photos, then to make sure, i have them, the digital one. Then, I had an impression, that film photos have been spoiled and have had published only the digital version. The third photo was made with canon 450d, pentacon 28mm lenses on a crop sensor. I have already published it somewhere on this or my Armenian language stream, I believe. The first two photos are on black and white film, Kodak CFT (which is not a film for photography, but for the medical purposes), and Mamiya-ZE2 with 50mm lenses, and that camera, unfortunately, leaked light.

there is a clear difference between ways of photographing black and white films in ussr and usa. i guess in usa they’ve used red filters, where whites become more white, and blacks - more black.
