  apparently there was a digital rangfinder, which looks like bessa voigtlander, and probably is modified version of it. it had aps-c sensor with 6.1 mpx resolution. it was produced since 2004 till 2007. amazing.

  again, not sure which one is better. probably the second one.

  apparently, x100’s shutter wheel can turn by itself, it’s not steady, hard to twist, as on older film range-finders. i didn’t notice that shutter was 1/30 at the moment, thus the smeared picture.

  it turned out, rangefinder photo cameras have huge limitations.

  • you can focus only if you have ~28-50mm lens because the viewfinder is designed to work with them.
  • very hard / impossible to use telephoto lens.
  • not possible close ups/ macro
  • cannot take a photo of something closer than 1 meter.
