so Super Takumar F3.5 35mm is better to not use via M42 adapter on Canon because it’s back is too long and interferes the mirror movement. It can be used if focused to the object less than 2 meters. Then the mirror can move freely. Otherwise, at 3-infinity mirror hits the back of the lenses.
btw, it works perfectly on mamiya 1000 dtl. some said that it’s better to not use SMC takumars on this cameras, because the screw mount differs and jam may occur. I don’t have SMC takumars, but both my Super Takumars work pretty well. (:

the Mamiya lenses are rated as being just about the sharpest lenses ever made for a 120 camera. The Pentacon lenses, on the other hand, even the CZJ multifoated ones, are adequate at best, and awful at worst(in the case of a lot of the Russian lenses). That’s optical quality. When you look at mechanical quality, you are comparing one of the best examples of Japanese design and engineering, to one the eastern bloc’s best examples of design and engineering.
