aaa, i succeeded in connecting my midi keyboard to bristol synth.
when i connect it, /dev/midi1 file is created.
qjackctl does not work in my windowmaker — when i start it, whole windowmaker hungs unless i don’t kill the process from pure terminal or via ssh.
so without jack, just alsa:
startBristol -mini -audio alsa -midi alsa -channel 1 -mididev /dev/midi1
now it is necessary to connect midi keyboard’s output to bristol’s input:
aconnect -l shows:

this windows console - cmd, if there are spaces in the path you type, puts the path in to the quotes. that’s smart.
however, when you press tab, it does not suggest, but autocompletes the line with the first possible option.
and after that, it moves the cursor to the end of the line, outside of quotes, and you have to come left yourself. which isn’t that smart. (:

Today I’ve got a warning that there is shortage of space on SD card. Was surprised, started to check. It turned out there is a file in the root, called “stream.wav”, and information is actively being written to it. I’ve listened the content - every event, talks, recording from the microphone for last 2 days. Checked my tablet - the same shit. As I am using CyanogenMod on my tablet, I have found out the reason pretty soon(see screenshot). Spying app is Yandex.Navigator. Now I’ll check logs of my home router, happily I have FreeBSD there, and I log everything, will check where my information went. Block this app or better uninstall it for good!
Yandex commented that it’s a bug.
Yes I believe it’s a bug indeed. We weren’t supposed to know that it spies, and it wasn’t supposed to eat such amount of space probably to remain unnoticed. Yandex will fix the bug and it’ll be harder to notice that it’s apps are spying after people. (:

mobile device manufacturers are trying to advertise their products as means of creativity. not only means of consumption. which is also good, because it’s about us. we want to be creative, not only consume.
i would like to say, let’s not forget, that we have amazing tool for creative work, right under ours very nose, but it becomes more and more neglected.
it is banal desktop personal computer.
it has terrific operating systems, well developed, toolkits and frameworks for writing software, diverse tools for creative work - photoshop and gimp, inkscape and illustrator, maya and blender, different cad systems for architects and engineers, cool software to create movies and animations.
btw, it’s symptomatic, that gtk toolkit was created in order to write gimp. (: because if you have such cool programs it means you have cool tools to write them.
on the contrary on mobile we have tools like instagram and picsart (btw, latter is developed in armenia, some of my friends work there, it’s founded by my former chief), and those tools are more like toys, too primitive.
and when you have only mobile device you have much more limited possibilities to learn, to go deeper, if you are curious. if you use windows, you can discover cmd, regedit, download real visual studio, use real professional tools like adobe illustrator, even when pirated. on mobile you cannot have such tools. you cannot make creative work which demands more tools, more efforts, and more knowledge, more personal development. that’s why i liked my n810 with maemo, it was basically hildon over debian, and when you have debian, it means whole gnu/linux world in your hands, you have tools, you can go deeper, do and learn a lot.
so this all beauty - development frameworks, toolkits, creative and professional tools, it’s all now neglected by the society which is amazed with mobile so called apps.

what is very convenient when you use vim (or it probably relates to any console editor) is that pasted text always goes exactly where you need it to be, not to other place. this helps me to work with texts a lot.
