— In Mcluhan’s book Understanding media there is one chapter called “The Gadget Lover”. He says that social media (well there was no social media in his time, but that’s what he meant), is like our own extension, a replication of our own image, and that we fall easily in love with our own mirror image, like Narcissus. And btw the name Narcissus has the same root as narcosis. We get addicted to ourselves.
