if you accidentally install ie8, and then accidentally setup xp sp3, then, your ie8 become unremovable. “Remove” button disappears from “Add Remove Programs”.
if anyway you have a courage to uninstall sp3, and get back “Remove” button, then, you’ll get a blackmail – list of applications which possible may not work after ie removal, like lingo, which were installed and working before that notorious ie installation
