iTunes is pretty much a galaxy unto itself these days and is in danger of collapsing into a black hole. Time to split it out.
this post has interesting ideas, for example it suggests have a human readable (let’s say json like) interface for different tools (instead of applications) to communicate with each other, and separate, let’s say, email client functionality by modules - service which receives emails, tool to view the list of emails, tool to view an exact email, and every module can be changed without affecting the other.

Now, with capacitive screens we cannot paint cause - firstly, they don’t sense the pressure strength, and secondly, the precision of capacitive screens is not enough for drawing - but enough for using fingers.
What these guys implemented in galaxy note - is a new layer which allows to use styluses with new design - not just the regular stick. So this is like crutch solution - why do we need these crutch if we could just have simple resistive screen. And the answer is - because resistive screen does not work well with fingers - which most people want (and what some consider a lack of development)
