i don’t understand mastodon. why on mastodon people care who follows them? like if bots follow them. or they block some people from following.

does it make sense? if you block someone, but you write publicly, (s)he can read your public posts anyway, without logging in.

or why would you care if somebedy follows you? it does not make you automatically follow them. and if you don’t follow them, why would it bother you who follows you?
