so i was trying to establish sshfs connection to jolla, i remember i was doing that without problems, but probably not with this update, and it was failing with the message:

remote host has disconnected

i’ve tried to run

sshfs -odebug,sshfs_debug,loglevel=debug nemo@jolla.arnet.am:/home/nemo/Music /mnt/jolla

i’ve got a lot of debug messages, but no use.

then i examined /etc/ssh/sshd_config on device. turned out it contained the line Subsystem sftp /usr/lib64/misc/sftp-server. what? why lib64?

changed that line to just ‘lib’, did not work.

then tried to understand what that should look like.

[root@Sailfish ~]# rpm -qa | grep ssh
openssh-7.1p2+git2-1.10.1.armv7hl
openssh-clients-7.1p2+git2-1.10.1.armv7hl
openssh-server-7.1p2+git2-1.10.1.armv7hl
[root@Sailfish ~]#
[root@Sailfish ~]# rpm -ql openssh-server | grep sftp
/usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server
/usr/share/man/man8/sftp-server.8.gz

aha!

commented out that line and added new instead in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

#Subsystem sftp /usr/lib64/misc/sftp-server
Subsystem sftp /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server

now

systemctl restart sshd

and sshfs works. (:

#ssh #sshfs #jolla #sailfish
