Writing for people to read is an act of trust, and acceptance.

whatever I write someone may interpret other than as I intended, however carefully I choose my words. When you write you invite people to look into your mind while not getting to see inside theirs, unless they respond. Of course, reading too is an act of trust: trust that he writer is dealing in honesty and good faith. In the end all of our social intercourse is based in trust.
