i don’t like so called ‘women’s day’. in ussr it was about a lot of hypocrisy, lost the original meaning, but instead was just a day to give flowers to women(does not matter that the same women will be humiliated for the rest of the year). as my girlfriend stated - the slogan of the day is ‘woman - is human’s best friend’, by referring to the similar sentence made about dogs.

i, and almost any girl or woman around me, including my mother, were extremely happy, that after the collapse of the ussr, our new government eliminated this day. unfortunately, it returned back together with authoritarian regime. the next so called ‘president’, or better, ‘ruler of the country’, who started to gain absolute power, and pressure any kind of opposition, free speech in media, etc, got the day back - it’s much better if citizens be busy by giving or receiving flowers, rather than by political activities. then, the next ‘ruler’, who was the spiritual follower of the second, and managed to made the authoritarian regime even more stable, made the day non-working, so the increase of authoritarian power goes hand in hand with the popularity of this ‘celebration’. no wonder.

this time, btw, the musical clip by the popular armenian band appeared online, where the head of the government was playing drums, slogans of the ruling party were visible here and there. the musical clip had to announce the march8 dedicated concert.

so, let me again quote kin-dza-dza - ‘why aren’t you happy? mr. pzh ordered to be happy. so be happy. yes, like that, good boys.’ so be happy and obey the orders. (:
