ZIT Zmodem Interface Transfer copyright 1992 by Doyle C. Helms Jr. On-Board SySTEms It's Squeezable-Software Installation: 1. Place ZIT.PRG in the SAME directory as XYZ.TTP. The XYZ program from Alan Hamilton MUST be named XYZ.TTP, not XYZ201.TTP or whatever! 2. Configure your telecommunications program to access an external program. This can be easily done from within FLASH!. Configure a Function Key like the following: >GEM D:\FLASH\ZIT.PRG| This will call ZIT from within FLASH! and execute. 3. Once executed, you will be presented with a menu asking for one of three options. A. Option 1 is Zmodem DOWNLOAD. If option 1 is selected, you will be presented with a file selector asking for a DOWNLOAD path. Define the PATH you wish your file(s) to download to and click OK in the file selector. DO NOT input a file name, just find the PATH for the download. This will option also works with batch Zmodem downloads. All the files you chose for batch download from the host system will be place in the directory you chose. If your terminal program does not allow external program execution, but it will allow you to exit the main terminal program without dropping the carrier signal, just drop back to the DESKTOP and execute ZIT and follow the prompts as required. Once transfer is completed, re-enter your terminal program and proceed as normal. B. Option 2 is for Zmodem UPLOADING. This is similar in action to Zmodem downloading except for the following. Once you notify the host system of your upload intentions, execute option 2 of ZIT and choose the file path AND file(s) for upload. If you wish only to upload only ONE file then select that file from the fileselctor and click (or hit RETURN) on OK. The UPLOAD proccess will now begin. If you wish to upload ALL the files in the selected path, input *.* in the filename selection box and ALL files in the chosen path will upload batch style. If you only wish to upload files with the .LZH extender enter *.LZH in the filename selection box. Same hold true for other filename types. Wildcards are allowed for filename entry. I'm sure you get the message. C. Option 3 is QUIT. This option will drop you back to your terminal program (if executed from with a telecommications program) or back to the DESKTOP if executed from the DESKTOP. I have tried to make ZIT as simple to use as possible. There are MANY more options allowed from within XYZ201.TTP. If enough interest is shown for these options to be implemented I will do so on a one to one basis. An enhance version will require more codeing and testing so I must ask that the ZIT Elite will require a shareware payment. I can configure ZIT Elite t use the ZEST type interface or I can continue with the "IBMish" style(key selections). Let me know if you would like ZIT Elite and I will begin work on the version style you wish. :) In the mean time, enjoy ZIT and let me know what is good or bad about it! Doyle C.
