Basics: Making a backup copy of the DoSound disk: For your convenience the DoSound disk is not copy protected, and you should make a backup copy of your original disk and store it in a safe place. Backup copies should be made only for your own personal use. Installing DoSound on a hard drive: The DoSound disk may be copied to a hard disk, (even within a different folder). The only requirement is that the DOSOUND.RSC file should be located in the same path as the DOSOUND.PRG. This same rule applies to the DOEFFECT.RSC and DOEFFECT.PRG files. Requirements for running DoSound: DoSound was written for the Atari ST series of personal computers and requires a minimum of one megabyte of memory to operate. Both medium and high resolution are supported. A MIDI capable instrument is required for some of the features offered in the MIDI mode. Conventions used within this manual: The conventions used through out this manual are the standard typical conventions. For detailed informations on how to work with the menu bar, dialog boxes, windows or the mouse please refer to your Atari owners manual. The DoSound program does not make use of the right mouse key or double clicks. All mouse operations are performed with single clicks from the left mouse key. The Effects program also does not use the right mouse key but does allow double clicks on certain buttons to allow you to change a value to its maximum or minimum value quickly. The ^ symbol used in the DoSound menu bar indicates that you should press and hold the Control key down while also pressing the additional key specified to activate the command with the keyboard equivalent.
