Okay! Yet another issue released, but unfortunately, half an hour before release, YAB was found. YAB is a name inspired by the UNIX program YACC. Like YACC is short for "Yet Another Compiler Compiler", "YAB" is short for "Yet Another Bug". This bug is the same bug that we met the first time we went "legal" by actually allocating the memory we used. Strangely enough, I have not found out exactly how to make this bug appear. Last time I did it was by loading the soundtracker music, loading the "Famous Last Words" article, loading part II of "the Dying Ritual", loaded part I of the same book, and then loaded the poetry article. What happens is that the file doesn't unpack properly. Actually, it's like the unpacker just "gives up" or something... Loading another small article usually fixes it again, and you can try to load the article you didn't get to read again. If that doesn't work, you probably have to exit the program and restart it. I'm thinking of adding a "reinit" function on the options menu. Right now, however, there is no time... SCRIBA MUST BE RELEASED TODAY! It's too late as it is. Strangely enough, I have not been able to force this bug to appear while playing the blipp blopp music. Anyway, when the next Scriba program is released, it should be enough just to use that program on the old data.bin file. But beware... THIS program will not work on the previous issues of Scriba, as we are now using our own archive method. We're about to make a standarization of that data.bin file, very soon, as a matter of fact, we're almost there, and when the standard has been completed, we will rerelease all previous issues as data.bin files. So... now that I have warned you about the UIB (UnIdentified Bug) I saw just before release, you won't need to hit me because an article doesn't load properly. Now I've got to rush to actually release this stuff... Au revoir... Lean back and enjoy this issue! We've worked very hard this time! Especially on the program! If you think our contribution to the Atari society is worth what we are doing, please acknowledge this by donations (so far we haven't gotten anything for this), postcards, fanmail or any other correspondence. We need to see that there are people out there who read this magazine! You'll find our correspondence addresses in the magazine. Thanks!
