1 SYSEDIT : SYSEDIT (no parameters) The SYSEDIT Feature on the FEDBBS isn't the Same as TRIPEDit the Stand alone program that started the FEDBBS , but it has alot of things to help you out in managing User Profiles , TripLinKs Current Set Up, along with a few Odds and Ends. As Time Goes on I will be Adding more options to this Menu. For more advanced Options / Tools use the TRIPEDIT.PRG Supplied with this Program, please look at it closely because there are alot of choices within it. Two very important options from the TRIPEDIT Main Menu and that U (UTILITIES) and S (SET PATHS). 2 TRIPCMD : TRIPCMD or ? (no parameters) List all available Sysop Commands used in SYSOP mode 3 DIR : DIR / DIR pathname / DIR pathname TO pathname+filename.ext DIR : Directory Of The Files In The Current Active Directory DIR xxxxx : This is the same as DIR except with 1 parameter. Example : DIR *.ARC DIR C:\TRIP\ST*.LZH DIR xxxxxx TO yyyyyy : You can send the Files XXXXXX to YYYYYY. Examples: DIR *.* TO C:\TRIPBBS\LISTING.TXT DIR D:\WILD\*.TXT TO F:\CRAZY\WOW.TXT DIR *.* TO "AUX:" (send to Modem) DIR *.HLP TO "LST:" (send to Printer) 4 FILES : FILES / FILES pathname / FILES pathname TO filename.ext FILES : Files is like DIR except it gives Length / Date / and Time FILES xxxxx : This is the same as FILES except with 1 parameter. Example : FILES *.ARC FILES C:\TRIPBBS\TRIPBASE\BASE*.* FILES xxxxxx TO yyyyyy: You can send the Files XXXXXX to YYYYYY. Examples: FILES *.* TO C:\TRIPBBS\LISTING.TXT FILES F:\UTILS\COOL\WOW.* TO F:\CRAZY\WOW.TXT FILES *.HLP TO "AUX:" (send to Modem) FILES *.* TO "LST:" (send to Printer) 5 DEL : DEL parameters Example : DEL *.* DEL TEST*.TXT DEL *.DOC DEL C:\*.TXT Deletes a file or Set of Files. 6 RENAME : RENAME oldname newname Example : Rename Crazy.TXT Wild.Doc Rename a file in the current directory From OLDNAME -> NEWNAME 7 COPY : COPY source destination Example : COPY test.txt C:\TRIPBBS\CRAZY\ COPY F:\wild.txt D:\TEMP\newwild.txt COPY *.HLP D:\TRIPBBS\MENUS_80\ COPY E:\*.* \TRIPDATA\ Copy a file or set of files from the source to destination location. 8 MOVE : MOVE source destination Example : MOVE test.txt C:\TRIPBBS\ MOVE F:\wild.txt D:\crazy.txt MOVE E:\TEMP\*.ARC \STUTILS\ MOVE *.ARC C:\TRIPBBS\TRIPDATA\ Move is like copy except it deletes the source file after copying. 9 MD : MD Fldrname.ext Make a Folder in the Current Directory. 10 CD : CD.. or CD Fldrname.ext CD.. , CD TRIPLINK , CD TRIPLINK\TRIPBASE CD \ Moves you to the Root of the Current Drive Change to another Directory from the Current Directory. 11 RD : RD Foldname.ext Remove a Folder from the Current Directory. 12 EXEC : EXEC program.ext (TOS or PRG) Execute a *.TOS or *.PRG program. You cannot call any TTP files with this because it does not pass any parameters to it. When you are local it will use a File Select Box! 13 EDIT : EDIT filename Example : EDIT crazy.txt EDIT F:\THIS\IS\WILD\DUDE\hell.txt Edit a text file using the same Editor you do when you type messages in the message bases. This is NOT a binary file editor, for instance dont EDIT any LZHs/ARCs/ZIPs/PRGs/TTPs/TOSs etc.. 14 TYPE : TYPE filename Example : TYPE C:\goodfile.VT2 TYPE F:\TRIPBBS\testing.ANS TYPE D:\WHAT\THE\HELL.VT2 TYPE regular.txt Show a file in raw form. This works with most any type of files. My main use (maybe yours) is to call my ST from work while on the PC, and I can preview any of the ( *.ANS ) files I made on the PC and uploaded to my ST so I can use the (*.ANS) as a MENU or whatever. The files with the extension (*.ANS) are ANSI Graphic files, they can be viewed when using an ANSI compatible system while remote, you cant view ANSI from the Desktop yet. So they may look like just crap when at the console on the ST but look GREAT! as a MENU for PC users. Also, I can call from someones house using the IGXXX.EMU in Interlink on an ST, and I can I can view any (*.IG) Files that can also be used as Menus. (*.IG Cannot be viewed From the Console!) Of course any files with the Extension (*.VT2) I use as VT2 files and they look great from the console. 15 DATE : DATE / DATE xx/xx/xx Show or Set the Current Date. 16 TIME : TIME / TIME xx:xx:xx Show or Set the Current Time. Must set in 24 hour format. The easiest way to remember what time it is, is by adding 12 to the time if its 12pm or later, like 1:30pm is 13:30:00. 17 LINKPATH : LINKPATH ( no parameters ) While in Sysop Mode. You can LINK the Current Directory into the FEDBBS file listing. For Instance, if youre in the Directory D:\STUTILS\ and you had 5 File areas. You could type LINKPATH and it would add the D:\STUTILS\ as File area #6. The Name of the New file Area Must be changed to your liking. You can use EDITFILES in Sysop Mode, or Select Option #2 from TOOLSET #2 on the DropDown Menu to change the Pathnames and File Area Names. 18 NEWFILES : Search for New Files Added to the FEDBBS Linked File Areas. 19 RESTORE : RESTORE ( no parameters ) Restore System files from the TRIPBACK Folder, after the command BACKUP has been run. There are only 2 Main Files that are backed up and protected. They are TRIPDATA.DAT and TRIPUSER.DAT. Just in case you or the FEDBBS trips out and Mangles the TRIPDATA.DAT / TRIPUSER.DAT then Restore will help you out. Try and do a Backup as much as often. 20 BACKUP : BACKUP ( no parameters ) Backup the TRIPDATA.DAT / TRIPUSER.DAT into the TRIPBACK Folder. This was not intended for a Complete System backup. This was made so it will take very little time and these 2 files are very critical to the FEDBBS. So if your smart and dont want to take chances , then for the hell of it select the BACKUP option on the Waitcall Screen once in a while. Using TRIPHOOKS in TripEdiT! (in the FEDBBS) you can force TLINK to automatically backup these files each time a New User logs on! 21 LINK : LINK filename / LINK ** (List Directorys) Example: LINK sys LINK Desktop.inf LINK *.LZH To use the command LINK you must do 2 things. Fist goto TOOLSET #1 on the dropdown menus and select the option to Create a SYSTEM.LST. After that has completed, run the other Option Create SYSTEM.TXT. They Must be ran in that order!!!!! Because SYSTEM.TXT is build from the SYSTEM.LST. SYSTEM.LST contains the Folder Names of ALL your folders on ALL Partitions , while SYSTEM.TXT contians the Folder names AND the Files within Each Folder. SYSTEM.LST can be changed with any text editor also. The Difference between the command LINK and HUNT is that , HUNT is what option K from the main Menu Uses. LINK searches ALL Files , and HUNT is a Subset of HUNT. See HUNT also. 22 ARC : ARC (No Parameters, Prompts Instead) Start up ARC.TTP and type the Parameters for it to act on. Please read the Docs on this Program if you dont know the command switches for it. ARC I mean of course. Please support the Author of this Sharware Program. 23 LZH : LZH (No Parameters, Prompts Instead) Start up LZH.TTP and type the Parameters for it to act on. Please read the Docs on this program if you dont know the command Switches for LZH. Please Support the Author of the this Sharware Program. 24 TTP : TTP This will prompt you to Enter the TTP Filename when remote, then ask you for the parameters. If you are local (No Carrier) then it will pop up with a File Select Box and After you select OK, it will then prompt you for the parameters. 25 All Versions: INJECT : INJECT filename.ext XX Example : INJECT C:\BBS\WILD\CRAZY.TXT 01 For Version 7.0 and Above: INJECT : INJECT filename.ext XX | | INJECT C:\TRIP.DOC 04 | ALL | This is the Title From a Menu : POSCMD>INJECT C:\TRIP.DOC 04 | ~6~ | TripLink! Is GreaT Injects an ascii text file in a message base from the current directory. The Value XX MUST be a 2 Digit number ( 02 12 09 etc..) XX=1 to 32 (Version 7+ is 64). You can use this in Menus wth POSCMD> The UserName and Title with the "|" are optional! You can specify a Username or ALL and the Title is truncated after 28 characters. The last examples apply to versions above v7.0. The Default for User and Title is: ALL / POS Injected Message 26 DFREE : DFREE or DFREE XX (XX= D:, F: etc..) Example : DFREE DFREE A: DFREE C: Shows the amount of free space on a certian Disk. When DFREE is typed without any Drive (C: D: etc..) then it shows Free Space on All Drives Active on the System. 27 MEM : Show Available FREE Memory on your System 28 HUNT : HUNT [prompted] / HUNT filename / HUNT ** (List Directorys) Example: HUNT st HUNT *.ARC HUNT control.acc Please read about LINK First. After Creating the SYSTEM.LST (see LINK) edit the SYSTEM.LST file and Delete out any directorys you do not want users to be searching through, and save it as PD.LST in the TRIPDATA folder. After that run the CREATE PD.TXT from the TOOLSET #1 Drop Down Menu on the FEDBBS. It will create a PD.TXT file in TRIPDATA and your Option K on the main Menu will be operational. The HUNT in SYSOP mode can now be used. You can Edit the PD.LST file and recreate a new file PD.TXT at any time. DO NOT SAVE "DESC" pathnames like C:\TEST\DESC\ because they are useless for users to search through, in your PD.LST that is. 29 CLRCALLS : Clear All The Caller Names From The Caller Log In the file TRIPDATA.DAT. This is the list shown when option W is taken from the Main Menu. This does not clear the TRIPBBS.LOG File THIS CLEARS THE ( WHOS CALLED ) log.... 30 BBSLOG : Display the FEDBBS Log file (TRIPBBS.LOG) TripLinK! Created 31 CLRLOG : Clear the FEDBBS log file TRIPBBS.LOG 32 FILELOC : Show Filename/Pathnames of the File Areas On TripLinK! 33 EDITFILES: EDITFILES ( no parameters ) MANAGES FILE AREAS LINKED TO THE SYSTEM! Calls the Extended File Editor. Files can be deleted or added with this editor. Both File Area Name and Pathname can be changed using this menu. It can also be called from TOOLSET #2. These are the file areas that you use on the FEDBBS with Option F. When choosing an option it will ask you for the NAME OF THE BASE! then the PATHNAME to where the files are. Always use the "\" at the end of the file path. By hitting SPACE 2 times on each line, The Name, Then Pathname, that file area will be removed. 34 END
