BugBlaster. Writen by Morgan Henry, 1991. You have been supplied with a remote contol bugblaster, with which you must keep your garden from becoming overrun with bugs... Initially you may use your £200 of bug money to upgrade your pathetic bug erradicator at the local gardening store. At present you are only equipped with your pea shooter, and 10 homing peas (they come back once they hit the fan). On offer (from top to bottom then left to right) is... shorter delay between shots (4 levels and very usefull) more peas (Maximum of 32 peas) wind to make the peas go further yer basic pea shooter (I am not sure why) 3 way pea shooter concentrated 3 way pea shooter (Buy one NOW) 5 way pea shooter mushy pea shooter (Shoots lumps of mushy peas) speed up (A bigger engine) more responcive steering (3 levels of turn speed) nrg (buy some to stay alive) exit (out to the next stage) Once kitted out you can go and bash a few bugs. As well as the multicoloured bugs there are beetles to contend with, these come from the top of the garden occasionaly and home in on you. Also the ladybird will zoom up or down the garden laying pods, which every now and again will release a spore from which a mushroom will grow. Bugs eat the mushrooms (occompanied by a burp) which will increase its resiliance to your peas. All the intruders to the garden must be killed quickly or the red slime that has accumilated in a beaker (top right of the screen) will leek into the ground poisoning the grass. When all the red slime has leeked out the bugs will head towards you. Contact with any bug, beetle or ladybird will reduce your meegre nrg (the bar at the top of the screen) eventualy killing you. Hit any bug, beetle, or ladybird with a pea and your score and bug money will increase. When all bugs, beetles, and ladybirds have been removed from the garden, any remaining slime will boost your bug money and you can return to the shop. Controls: Joystick Left , rotate left Joystick Right , rotate right Joystick Up , speed up Joystick Down , slow down Fire , shoot a pea P pauses, and fire resumes. Esc aborts the game in progress or quits when on the title screen. More... This is the first Amiga program that I have completed to a point where it is usable by people other than myself. It would have remained uncompleted if not for: Jan, PF, MAD, and The Pink Panther. Sorry the screen flickers so badly. The program can handle 138 objects on the screen, but it is likely to be less than half that. Unsqished BugBastard is just over 203K in length, but it needs 300K to load unsquish and run. It should run on most Amigas, but then you never can tell. Er, thats it. Any correspondace to: Morgan Henry, 151 Sydenham Park Road, London, SE26 4LP.
