QUIZ MASTER V2.0 GAME INSTRUCTIONS ================================== The game is simple enough try and answer as many questions as possible. You get ten points per correct answer and three lives to play with (one is lost every time you get a question wrong, or you run out of time). Your answer is picked by using the "1", "2" or "3" keys on the numeric keypad. GOOD LUCK!! You need it the questions are tough, why else is it called Professional Edition. THE IDEAS BEHIND QUIZ MASTER ============================ The idea behind Quiz Master was simple, I'd had enough of pumping coins into pub quiz machines and getting sod all out. "Hold on", says I. "If I enjoy playing these games no matter if I win money or not, then it'll be a lot cheaper to write a similar game on the Amiga." And so Quiz Master 1 was born. If anyone of you who are reading this (there is someone reading this isn't there) has got hold of a copy of Quiz Master 1, then you know the main problem was the amount of questions available. Around 135 per program (there was two on the disk). The main reasons behind such an abysmal start was generally lack of experience and using AmgiaBasic. A couple of months later I bought a copy of GFA Basic V3.something or other and after struggling through the amazingly unfriendly manual updated the Quiz Master program to what you are about to play. Although I've used the 250 or so questions that were in the first game, I've also included a futher 300 new ones. I've kept the game play exactly the same, yes you still have to use keys, but I think this keeps the cliche "Fingers on the buzzers" alive and well. For the other improvements I made, read on: IMPROVEMENTS SINCE V1.0 ======================= 1) The graphics are better and I've cut down on the number of colours used, therefore increasing the memory available for the questions. 2) A minimal amount of sound has been added i.e., one beep for a correct answer and another for a wrong one. 3) The amount of time you get for each question decreases upto a point, depending upon the score achieved. 4) You can now get an extra life after every 150 points, i.e., 150, 300 etc. 5) Exiting to the workbench is now made easier by simply answering no to the question, "Do you want to play again?" 6) MOST IMPORTANTLY the maximum number of questions has been vastly increased to over 500. This is around four times more than the previous version. The two PD programs used on this disk, DMouse and PPMore have their DOC's within the System draw. I would also like to acknowledge the use of: DPaint GFA Basic TitanCrunch ClickDos IFF-Ex Without which life would have been a lot harder... If you have any ideas, lists or PD Disks you think I'll be interested in (and I will) send them to: Andrew Chetham 39 Ramsbottom Street Accrington Lancashire BB5 1BZ Cheers and enjoy the game, A Chetham.
