WELCOME TO ASSASSINS BATTLESHIPS




 A classic board / pen and paper game that everyone must have play sometime
or another lovingly put together for your Amiga.But just in case you are an
Alien from the planet Xeneonx or some place like that, this simple document
should help you get the most out of this all time favorite.



                     ALL CONTROL IS THROUGH YOUR MOUSE

 which basically means that you place your ships where you would like them
by pointing to the grid and clicking the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. To rotate your
               ships you simply press the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON



                                 MAIN MENU

               The main menu screen offers you the choice of
                   1 PLAYER, 2 PLAYER, 4 PLAYER or QUIT



                               1 PLAYER GAME

        There are two choices awaiting single player and those are

         1 PLAY AGAINST THE COMPUTER IN A CLASSIC BATTLESHIP GAME 
                                    and
            HUNT THE COMPUTER for the faint hearted among you
    who would rather not have nasty shells damaging your shinny ships.






                               2 PLAYER GAME

 The only option is to play against a friend or someone you dislike maybe.

  Sorry but you will just have to turn your head when your opponents are
placing their ships and of course they most do the same.. NO PEEKING NOW!!






                               4 PLAYER GAME
                             Mega  BattleShips

 In this game you can have upto 4 human players playing head to head or if
 you are alone but still want a good challenge then you can go up against
   3 computer controlled players. You can of course have 1, 2 or 3 other
  humans and make up the 4 players mode, with computer controlled players

 Again if you are playing human opponents, you will have to take turns at
       hiding your eyes while each player in turn places their ships

            there are a few little extras built into this game.
You will notice that after placing your ships, you will be presented with a
menu full of NEW IMPROVED WEAPONS to choose from, these can be purchased if
      you have enough money and maybe tip the balance in your favour.



                             THESE WEAPONS ARE

SINGLE SHOT    		Only 1 shell fired at a time which can still sink
			 ships...

BIG BOMB		Only 1 shell, but its a big one and can sink ships 
			in the grid positions to left, right, above & below
			target area.

BOUNCING BOMB		A single shell that will bounce across, up/down the
			grid hitting alternative grid squares.

TORPEDO			Just as the name suggests, this missile will travel
			in the direction it is pointed until it hits 
			anything in its way.

EXOCETS			Very similar actions to a torpedo, but this missile
			will continue on the chosen course even after
			hitting a target

TWIN TORPEDOS		This  weapon is the same as its  little brother the
			torpedo but as its name suggests, two torpedos are 
			launched one after another,  running alongside each
			other in the grid along the chosen path.

TRIPLE TORPEDOS		This is one worth saving for... Same action as its
			little relatives, but with three torpedos launched
			one after the other along the chosen path.

DOUBLE EXOCET		The ultimate in destruction, launch this missile
			and anything that stands in its way is history. 
			Two Exocets are launched one after the other along
			the desired flight paths.

When aiming these various weapons, all control is again with the mouse and
     both buttons, after pointing to the desired target with mouse....

     LEFT MOUSE = FIRE WEAPON         RIGHT BUTTON = ROTATE DIRECTION





             THATS THE GOOD NEWS.....   NOW THE BAD NEWS.....



You may find that from time to time you come across an innocent WHALE just
going about his business and not bothering a sole or should that be soul...
So if you accidentally happen to hit one of these bastian of the sea, expect 
to have to face the consequences. 

Maybe GREENPEACE was close on hand.... If so expect some kind of action to
be taken against any offenders

But even if they don't catch up with you they will almost definitely have
reported you to the INTERNATIONAL WHALING COMMISSION and the least you can
expect is a heavy fine....

    and DELUXE PAINT IV, no other programs have been used in its creation.
              apart from a text editor for this bit that is.

                     STU & BILL from THE ASSASSINS PD.

          If you haven't seen Bryans excellent Pub Darts yet then
             it is available from THE ASSASSINS PD collection.

                          BUT I CANT SEE WHY YOU
     WILL NOT HAVE, SINCE IT IS ON THE SAME DISK AS THIS GAME ANYWAY...
