FastBreak requires the following minumum requirements: 720 KB OF FREE DISK SPACE. This can be free space on a hard disk, two 360 kb 5.25 inch disk drives, 1 3.5 inch disk drive, or one 1.2 meg or one 1.44 meg disk drive. A COLOR MONITOR. This can be CGA, EGA or VGA. YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IN THE CONFIG.SYS FILE ON YOUR BOOT DISK OR THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF YOUR HARD DISK: FILES = 15 BUFFERS = 25 These are minumum requirements. If the number of Files and Buffers specified in your config.sys exceeds these numbers that's fine. If you don't have enough files it is a simple procedure to add the above statements to your CONFIG.SYS file. Simply load your current CONFIG.SYS file (found in the root directory of your hard disk or boot-up diskette) into your favorite word processor and add the above lines. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE FILE IN THE ASCII FORMAT (there will instructions on saving an ASCII file in your word processor). DOS 5 users can use the EDIT program that came with DOS 5. EDIT automatically saves in the ASCII format. To run FastBreak on two 360 kb diskettes you must have the following files on the disk in your A: drive: FB.EXE FB.HLP SETUP.EXE TALENT.NBA TITLE.SCN When you run SETUP you will specify B: as your data drive and all files created by the program will be written to B: To install FastBreak on your hard disk from a floppy or CD-ROM disk, log to the drive containing the FastBreak files and type install. You will be prompted for the directory on the hard disk and that directory will be creatd and all files will be copied into that directory. To print FastBreak's instructions you may then type PRINTDOC. Registered users get the latest release of the registered version of FastBreak. In addition you will receive the lastest version of the FastBreak GENERAL MANAGER'S DISK which allows you to trade players or sign free agents. FastBreak Fantasy Basketball (hereafter referred to as FastBreak) is copyrighted software - it is not now and never has been in the public domain. Every release of FastBreak comes in two versions, the ShareWare or Evaluation Version and the Registered Version. The ShareWare Version of FastBreak is intended for evaluation purposes. The ShareWare Version is fully enabled so that all areas of the program may be tested. Registered owners get the latest version of the program and a free copy of the program FastBreak General Manager which makes player trades and allows you to sign free agents. Before running FastBreak make sure that the following files are in the drive/directory that you will start the program from: FB.exe (FastBreak the program) FB.hlp (the help file) FB.doc (the manual) SETUP.EXE (the setup program) Talent.NBA (the file containing the NBA teams - needed only for a league based on NBA players) Title.scn (the opening graphics screen) GM.EXE (registered version only - the General Manager's program) The ShareWare Version of FastBreak may be copied and distributed to others subject to the following conditions: No charge may be made for FastBreak itself. Any fees collected for the sale of diskettes containing FastBreak must be clearly stated as being for materials and/or handling charges. The cost of the disk containing FastBreak may not exceed $15.00.
