HISTORY.TTE file - Tiny Tafel Editor release notes - 6/2/93

v2.00 Released on 6/2/93

  New feature - It now produces matching reports.  (Alt-M from the TT
  edit screen)

  New feature - The default header can now be viewed from the Alt-H
  header menu.

  New feature - A "surname highlighting" feature was added.  It is
  optional and may be toggled from the setup screen.

  New feature - An option was added to the Program Setup screen for
  enabling/disabling "Consider spaces unnecessary characters?"

  New feature - Several command line options were added.  Start the
  program as "TTEDIT ?" to see them.

  New feature - Several text files were added which provide info about
  TMS, GenData, the new Tin Tafel Collection Service, and other TT
  related topics.

  Change - The "remember the last edited file" option has been removed
  from the setup screen.  However, the feature still works.

  Change - The registration price was raised to $15 due to increased
  costs.  The number of disks and postage will go up because of sending
  Tiny Tafel Collection Service data and because the forthcoming Family
  Scrapbook v2.00 will take up more disks than previous versions (and
  I don't buy cheap disks).


v1.04 Released on 10/16/92

  Bug fix - Made even more corrections to the soundex code generation
  routines.  TTEDIT should now create soundex codes the same way that
  TMS does.

  New feature - Several new options were added to the Program Setup
  screen.  They include:
      1. Force case of "keeper of data" name to TMS compatible.
      2. Strip unnecessary characters from surnames during TT loading.
      3. Strip surname numbers from lines during TT loading.
      4. Strip all high-ASCII during TT loading.
      5. User specifiable field to fill unknown places with.
      6. User defined printer string field.

  Change - The maximum number of possible surname lines is no longer
  fixed at 2000.  The number will change depending on how much memory is
  available.  The program will use all of the memory that it can get, but
  it will still operate if you do not have enough available memory to
  edit the maximum amount of lines.  Provided that you have the memory,
  the maximum number of surname lines will go up to 3500.

  Bug fix - Made some corrections to the soundex code generation routines.


v1.02 Released on 9/18/92

  New feature - Added an Alt-H command.  It allows to to save the first
  19 header lines and retrieve them into other TT's...saving you that
  typing...

  New feature - Added a Program Screen, which allows the you to change
  things like uppercase conversion and the use of "foreign" or accented
  characters.

  Change - Made several adjustments to the way TT's are processed, which
  should make it more compatible with TMS.  Changes include adjustments
  to the soundex generation algorithm, sorting surname lines by surname,
  and validation of soundex codes when loading.


v1.01 Released on 9/8/92

  Bug fix - Corrected the runtime error that prevented new TT's from
  being saved.

  Change - Changed the editing of surname lines so that any / or \
  characters that are entered in the surname, place 1, and place 2 fields
  will be converted to spaces.  Additional / and \ characters will cause
  the TT to be processed incorrectly by computer programs.

  This is the first official release of the program.
