FLAG NAMES Subgroups focus on selected branches of your family. Family Tree Journal allows you create subgroups by identifying a group of family members and assigning the group a unique flag. The flag may then be selected to limit the scope of some of the other functions in the program. The F2 key is used to clear any or all of the subgroup flags that have been previously set. The F3 key will flag the names of the ancestors and/or des- cendants of the person that has been selected in the NAME and NUMBER fields using the character selected in the FLAG field. Leaving the FLAG field blank may be used to clear the flags for the selected individual's ancestors and/or descendants. The SKIP GENERATIONS field is normally used to limit the number of TREES AND DATA charts printed by the book feature. Since the trees print 4 generations of ances- tors and descendants for each individual, there is a lot of duplication of names. Using 4 in this field will save a lot of paper when printing TREES AND DATA charts in books. *******
