This will page approximately 130K of memory to a virtual disk when XLIST launches a program if the *OVERLAY option in XLIST.PRO is set ON. (DOS Version) SET TMP=D:\ <-- Set to a virtual disk or temporary directory SET XLIST=C:\XLIST <-- Set to location of XLIST.PRO & XLIST.CNF (optional) NEW FEATURES: Version 2.70 --- June 2, 1992 Preview file entries when browsing the directory tree when the new profile command *TREESCAN is ON. Option to reload directory tree when a XLIST_x.LOG file exists is controlled by the *TREEDATE profile command. Position to archive file when exiting directory scan of archive. Un-highlite current command line when executing commands. Correct the space utilization "allocation unit" amount. Some color changes to the directory tree & /exe window. Version 2.70A --- July 14, 1992 Correction to include all directories of LZH archive files. /EXP & /EXE command wouldn't function correctly in clearing screen. Version 2.70B --- July 27, 1992 Modified to load upward to 5900 entries using the *ENTRIES parameter by using 31-bit huge pointers. Recompiled programs to resolve intermittent problems in OS/2 2.0 causing SYS3175 and SYS3176 protection faults with DOS version in DOS window. (Compiled with MS C/C++ 7.0.) Directory tree work file naming standards changed to "XLIST.LOG" for MS-DOS and non-HPFS OS/2 drives and "XLIST.HPFS" for HPFS OS/2 drives. Lets you have Xlist active in both DOS & OS/2 windows without directory tree confusion. Pressing CTRL-ENTER will only execute the command on the current command line where the cursor is positioned. Version 2.70C --- August 6, 1992 Will now support Digital Research's DR.DOS 6.0 memory management features when using the *OVERLAY feature and high memory active. Corrected bug in the Zip archive directory causing only the first entry to be displayed in some cases when central directory had extra appended information. Removed the *EMS option as unnecessary. New parameters added to the *OVERLAY option to specify the possible locations to swap the program from memory. These options may be mixed on the *OVERLAY line following the first option "ON". Values: SWAP_ANY, SWAP_DISK, SWAP_EMS, SWAP_XMS, SWAP_EXT (Note: OS/2 Users in the DOS box should't use the SWAP_ANY and SWAP_EXT options. Use SWAP_EMS or SWAP_XMS option) Minor correction to inconsistent operation of the /s option on the command line. Version 2.70D --- August 19, 1992 Support older archive .LZH method. Bug causing the *DISABLE command not to work for the CD & CHDIR commands. Made the program more sticky on saving the status of the directory when navigating between directories and to archives. New $T variable will be a list of tagged files. $T is full pathname and filenames while $t is shorter filename only. The Ctrl-PgUp will position the highlite/cursor to the first tagged file. Recognizes encrypted archive entries on ZIP files and will prompt for the password when using the $s or $S variable. $S will always prompt for password while the $s will only prompt once while in the archive. Removed the SWAP_EXT option from *OVERLAY profile command. Version 2.70E --- October 17, 1992 Fixed bug in the alt-t tag screen causing Xlist to execute tagged entries when excaping with ESC key. Made the /RD=[filespec] definitions "sticky" when navigating from directories. Add some more information on the directory tree using the TREESCAN ON option in the XLIST.PRO file. Add XLIST.ICO icon for OS/2 2.0 Version 2.70F --- October 22, 1992 The directory tree will recognize the sort parameters when displaying using the TREESCAN option ON. You can use the shifted PGUP/PGDN & up/down cursor to control viewing the directory displayed in the directory tree when using the TREESCAN option ON. Version 2.71 --- November 22, 1992 Utilize OS/2 multi-thread processing for copying and erasing files increasing the thruput (This works great!) Misc. video speed improvements on OS/2 version. Correction for creating multiple workfiles when browsing archive files. Correction to keep from having a SYS3175 error on OS/2 when pressing enter in an empty directory. Added feature to handle unsafe interrupts when shrinking memory usage. If you get the "Unsafe interrupt..." message when executing commands load the "TSRINT.EXE" TSR program prior to executing Xlist. (Note: This program is needed with the *OVERLAY option using DOS under OS/2 2.0.) Version 2.71a --- November 30, 1992 Corrected bug causing SYS3175 error when untagging tagged entries. Version 2.71b --- January 2, 1992 Added new environment parameter XLIST= that points to the overriding location of the XLIST.PRO and XLIST.CNF files. Displays function keys F1 through F12 on bottom line of display. The alt-s command will toggle through more display options. Recognize the numeric keypad Enter key as different from the normal Enter key for setting the keyboard. Version 2.71d --- February 15, 1993 Correct small problem in the PF line showing a leading blank on some commands. Enter Key is unique for the keyboard and the numeric keypad so you can set it on the keyboard layout (alt-k command). The OS/2 "/START" command has been changed to be more flexible and added the -NOR subcommand to make the started session independent of Xlist. Added code to make the directory tree less sluggish when continuing to press the cursor keys. Better envoking of OS/2 programs. Version 2.71e --- May 1, 1993 Add new *SORTDIR profile command to allow the directories to be sorted to the top of the list always. Recompile the MS-DOS version with the new Microsoft C/C++ 8.00 Visual C Compiler. Version 2.71f --- June 27, 1993 Add new PRUNE command to delete a sub-directory and all files and directories.
