Gives read only access for users. iii - runs See Mail program, sets mail system default to name of mail sub-directory. Changes screen defaults. Saves configuration files. iv - Copies See Mail configuration files to LAN program sub-directory, along with See Mail program, help, and screens. v - Selects mailbox configuration, See Mail automatically creates the new mailbox. Administrator creates Supervisor group with highest access rights. Administrator joins the supervisor group as the master user. Sharing LAN data banks: ßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßß Data banks can be shared between LAN users. These can contain anything from lists of client addresses to product and stock data. Users can also have their own private data banks at the same time. o LAN administrator: i - creates sub-directory on LAN for data banks. Gives all users full read/write/update access. ii - creates data bank on local drive using create data bank menu option. Copies new data bank to LAN drive sub-directory. iii - Designs screen for data bank using the SCRDEF program, and copies new screen to the See Mail PROGRAM sub-directory. Screen should have same name as data bank, (i.e. address.scr and address.rlx). o LAN user: i - Use the Setup directories options to specify location of shared data banks. Save configuration. ii - Browse shared data bank to verify access is available. LAN Mail Access: ßßßßßßßßßßßßßßßß o See Mail uses FOLDERS to manage your mail. These include OUTGOING, INCOMING, SENT, UNSENT and DRAFTS. o To send mail you should first create a mail item and then save it in your OUTGOING folder. Then you can select the open/post Internal mail option from the mailBox menu to actual send the mail out. o You then use the Post option to send the mail item(s) to the LAN mailbox. Once it is complete you just move the file to the OUTGOING folder using the file utilities. Then use the mailBox open/post Internal mail option as before. o To receive mail, use the mailBox open/post Internal mail, and then select receive. You will see a list of mail items, press enter against each item you want to receive, and then press to action the receive. The mail items you marked will be read to your INCOMING folder.
