------- SCREENS ------- Mark Wickson, of the Cacophony disk magazine introduces an aspect of AMOS that every user needs to know. Very easy, very basic, but still a pain in the rear if you have no experience. To load an IFF file (A picture you've created with an art package, such as Deluxe Paint) type in the editor of AMOS: Load IFF "Filename",0 You replace "Filename" with the name of your picture, and 0 is the screen that the picture will be `sent' to (Remember there are 8 screens in all,and if you load more than one,the lowest(In number) screen will be displayed - If you want to change this, we'll show you how later. You could be more specific about where you load the picture from - for instance: Load IFF "Directory name:Filename",0 This time, you also have to replace the Directory name with the name of the directory that your picture is in. Another way is: Load IFF "DF0:Filename",0 `DF0' is the disk drive that your picture disk is in. For instance, if the disk was in your second drive, you'd call it `DF1'. But if you want to be really specific (And you enjoy typing) try this: Load IFF "DF0:Directory name:Filename",0 For the next example, you'll need 2 different pictures on the same disk: This, as I mentioned earlier, is a way to show several screens and not have to load the new one in every time. ("Screen1" is the name of the first picture and "Screen2" is the name of the second - Change the names if yours are different) Load IFF "Screen1",0:Screen Hide Load IFF "Screen2",1 Wait 50 Screen Show 0 Try this, experimenting with all 8 screens and loading more in when you've shown them.
