---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Questions and Answers column - - By Neil Wright. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to yet another round of bug bashing with Neil wright. Speccy Weccy! ------------- Q. How can I transfer my old Spectrum BASIC listings into AMOS? - James Stewart, Durham A. You can't. Spectrum BASIC and AMOS BASIC are virtually uncompatible. Theoretically you could try to convert every Spectrum command into a corresponding AMOS one. In practice this would take an age. PD Worries ---------- Q. I notice that you distribute Public Domain software. Are the AMOS programs compiled or can I list them? - Peter Irvine, Scotland A. ALL programs disks contain uncompiled AMOS code, Peter. They are excellent sources of information for beginners. [well you would say that - Ed] Price War --------- Q. I own Easy AMOS and recently I saw in the shops (Virgin Megastore) that both AMOS and AMOS Professional were being sold for £49.99. Which is best? - Gordon Eglinton, Devon A. I'm a bit shocked to hear that, Gordon. Actually AMOS should be priced around £29.99 now. Oh, AMOS Professional is far superior. I used it to create this magazine interface after all. Multi-tasking ------------- Q. I know that you can toggle AMOS/Workbench using Amiga & A, but can you drag AMOS programs down like true Workbench programs? If so, how? - Everybody A. I'm afraid you can't. Well, not at the minute anyway. Unfortunately you will have to wait until Europress release the AMOS intuition extension; maybe then we can. Neil We are just waiting to answer any questions that you have. Does Amos just drive you wild, has the compiler gone crazy, is Amos 3D really the compiler in disguise? (If you think the last ones true then you've obviously got the wrong program!) Send us your problems or any questions you have regarding Amos, Amos Pro,The Compiler, Amos 3D, Tome, C-Text, Sprite-X, Curs-Ed or FontX and we will try our best to answer them. Even if we can't, we'll give it a really good try. Send them to the following address: N.B.AMOS c/o Neil Wright 39 Riding Dene Mickley Square Stocksfield Northumberland NE43 7DL
