The Amos Accessory V1.0 Written by John.K.Rutterford Setup Instructions ------------------ First Load in the program from the Accessory Directory and then save it onto your AMOS boot disk. Now load in the Amos_Config program and then after loading in the default configuration change the LOAD ACCESSORY strings to AMOS_ACC.ACC. Now save the default configuration and then reboot AMOS. You are now ready to use the Accessory. To activate it just press the HELP key from the AMOS editor. To find out how to use the Amos_config program consult the manual you received with AMOS. When you first use the program it will automatically define a notepad file on the Bootup disk if it does not exist. Using the program ----------------- The program is almost entirely mouse driven. When you press the help key to program will start (you may have to wait for it to load into memory if you haven't used it yet!). Before anything happens the program loads in the notepad. This takes a couple of seconds after which you will be presented with the main menu. To select an option from the menu just point to it with the mouse. It will then highlight. To select it press the left mouse button. The very last option resets the screen to the default setup. Use this if the colour scheme makes it hard to read the menu. Ascii Table ----------- This is the first option on the main menu. After selecting it a new window will appear. The window is split up into two columns. The columns display the ascii number followed by its ascii character. The first 32 ascii codes are not characters but control codes. These are displayed as an abbreviation. At the bottom of the display are three control boxes. These are to move the table either up or down or to exit back to the main menu. Notepad ------- The notepad consists of eleven pages (0-10). You can write anywhere inside the notepad page. Use the cursor keys to move the cursor and backspace to delete the character to the left of the cursor. The notes are saved to disk when you exit the accessory. This only takes a few seconds. Bank Manager ------------ This option grabs the banks from the program you are currently editing. The control boxes work as follows. First select your option, say ERASE and then point to the bank you wish to erase and press the button. You can abort any function by pressing the right mouse button. When you exit the program the banks will be copied back to your main program. Joy-Test -------- This is a simple window which lets you test if the joystick in port 1 is working correctly. Exiting the Program ------------------- To exit just select exit from the main menu upon which you will be returned to the AMOS editor. Conclusion ---------- I hope this little program becomes of a great value to you. If you should come across any bugs please contact me at the address below. Also if you have any ideas that could go into a new version then I would be glad to hear them. John.K.Rutterford J.K.R Software 10 Pritchard Road Southside Gympie 4570 Queensland Australia
