WEDDING V1.3 History ------- This disk started out as a series of individal DPAINT3 pictures which I intended to record onto a wedding video. Disc structure -------------- This disc should be self-booting, although I do not have access to an A500 to try it with the 1.3 rom. Upon opening the disc icon you are presented with icons which have the following functions:- Readme - displays this file Brightanim - plays a short intro using showanim Champanim - plays another short anim Both use showanim but I would suggest you change these to use Play as IMHO it is more stable. ( it takes ages to load however). Weddingdemo - a compiled version of wedding. This will load the pictures directly from a bank therfore improving on the speed of wedding. The delay times are also reduced. Wedding - This loads the pictures from disk before packing them into banks. The delay times are correct to enable reading of the text displays. Program objective ----------------- The objective of the program is to control a sequence of pictures, and the time for which they are displayed. It is intended that any user can simply read the pictures from the pics directory into DPAINT 3 and modify them to suit their own requirements. Saving them and then running the progrem will then display the new pictures. No programming knowledge is required, so results can be achieved quite quickly. You will have to keep the file names I have used unless you are competent enough to change them. If you do not think you are then make a copy of the source code first. Program structure ----------------- The pictures are initially loaded from disk and then packed into banks. I have done this for two reasons:- 1. If they are simply loaded and then hidden, you will run out of memory on a 1meg machine. 2. If the were loaded from the bank each time, changing the pictures in the pics directory would have no effect. Remember that you are limited to 15 banks, so if you use more pictures you will need to load the appropriate pictures at the relevant point in the program. This program has the final times for displaying the screens (remember that older people take longer to read, and that some videos do not have a very good "hold" facility). These time can be shortened for new progam de-bugging. Program Description ------------------- The program starts by displaying a page of instructions and asks you to play and record "bright" from the top level directory. (As wedding videos are shot inside, sometimes the final picture is too dark and simply turning up the television brightness can make a tremendous difference.) To play and record "bright" from the top level directory you will have to press Left Amiga A to put amos to the back and get you to the workbench. Click on the appropriate icon to rum the animation. Use Left Amiga A when you are ready to get back to AMOS. Be patient - the PLAY program takes ages to load. If you then press a mouse button you will get the opening screen which wil remain there until you press a mouse button a again. This is to give you time to set up your videos for recording / editing. Pressing the mouse button will allow the program to display and scroll the images from the pics directory. These can be loaded into DPAINT and changed to suit your own circumstances. When the picture of the gifts appears, it will remain in view until you press a mouse button to continue the program. Record this picture and whilst it is on the screen you should record any film which was taken at the showing of the presents. Otherwise press the mouse button and the credits will be shown. Following this, a picture of a bell will appear, and remain until you press a mouse button. You should now record the bell picture and then add any film which was taken at the church. You should then play and record "champ" from the top level directory. You will have to Left Amiga A to put amos to the back and get you to the workbench. Click on the appropriate icon to rum the animation. Use Left Amiga A when you are ready to get back to AMOS. Any film from the reception should now be added. Press a mouse button. The final "thank you" screen should then be shown. This will remain on view for a short while before the "set-up" screen is shown. If you edit the source code you can change this delay, or make it remain on screen until a mouse button is pressed. (You could of course just terminate the program at this point). You will probably have to edit the source code anyway to remove the "print" commands I have used to try and provide instruction to those who run the program before reading this file. Pictures -------- Each of the pictures in the pics directory can be called into DPAINT3 and moified to show text appropriate to your own subject, and the program will show them when run. Fonts ----- All fonts are available in the DPAINT fonts directory. Helvetica is available on the workbench fonts disk. Just put it in you disk drive when selecting the text option in DPAINT. The fonts used are as folows:- TOM LAIRD Helvetica 24 bold PRESENTS COURIER 24 BOLD MAUREEN GARNET 16 BOLD LOCATION SAPHIRE 19 ORDINARY CREDITS HELVETICA 13 ORDINARY THANK YOU EMERALD 17 ORDINARY Animations ---------- As there are two animation which have to be played, I have included "showanim" and "play", both of which I believe to be freely distributable as PD disks. The contribution made by the authors is hereby recognised and credir given Both animations are currently set up to use "showanim" so be very patient while it loads - they take a couple of minutes each to load. To change the default to "play", click on the icon, then pull down and select the information option from the icons menu. Click on the end of play then use the cursor keys to delete the word. Replace with play and all should be fine. Compilier --------- The only compilier I have is the one from CU amiga but I finally got the program to compile (Thanks to Shadow Software help line). Here's how:- Read the file out as ascii Select "new" Merge the ascii back in again Run the program - do not edit it - do not breath on it Save the program Select "load other" and load the compilier Select "run other" and select the compilier Select the source Select the destination Select the output format Select "compile" Pray If you get the message "program not checked" then start again. If anyone knows what is wrong, could they please let me know. Thanks in advance. I have commented the program where I felt it was needed, but there is nothing too sophisticated about the stucture. I have tried to keep it simple to read and understand. This version (V1.3) of the program is freeware (no licencefee). This program can be freely distributed as long as this file remains on the disc.
