54, Cambridge Road, Hillcrest, Hamilton, New Zealand. 10 February, 1992 AMOS PD Library c/o Sandra Sharkey 25 Park Road Wigan, WN6 7AA Dear Sandra, Please find on this disk an AMOS program called PALET. It is all ready to click and run. I know that Palette Programs are two-a-penny, but I am quite pleased with the particular combination of features in this one, and it is designed to be easy to include in other programs. I am sending it in the vain hope that you may like it, and may even be able to find a suitable niche for it in a future APD disk. I have seen no APD disks, and don't know how many or what kind of Palette Programs are there already. If this one has nothing extra to add, or if you don't think it is of the required standards in performance or robustness, then just throw it away. I have found it quite useful since I wrote it, and other AMOS users may do the same. (If I get a disk in exchange - if only for the effort - how about starting from the top: APD1, please.) Since Australia is nearer to NZ than to UK, I suppose I should have sent this to Pactronics Pty Ltd., but have been unable to find their address. An unrelated matter, and a suggestion: Your General Info. (p.43 of AMOS Extras Manual) states that payments from abroad must be made in GBP by International Money Order or Postal Giro. No other currencies. No credit card payments. Now "Postal Giro" is a quite meaningless expression to anyone not living in the UK. International Money Orders involve significant charges. I rashly used one a couple of years ago. It cost me $8.75 to send $10 dollars. I now make all my overseas purchases with a Visa card. It is a straightforward condition - if they don't accept Visa, I take my business elsewhere. It is very unusual to find anyone not willing to accept payment by that method, and in fact yours is the only such business I know of at the moment. Any chance of your changing the rules a bit? Best wishes, John Collett
