There is also room for an FPU (Floating Point Unit) which is a custom chip that can do high precision mathematic functions very quickly and this will cost an extra £70, but is worth it if you use software which is programmed for it. Another good feature about the card, is that it does ROM shadowing automatically. This means that it copies the Kickstart chip into 32-bit RAM and therefore speeds up any programs that use the routines within the chip. Along with the card you get a disk, this contains utilities and documentation, etc, giving instructions on how to make the most out of the A5000. Personally, I think the A5000 is very good, being cheap, easy to use and it boots up in accelerated mode automatically, but it could be a bit difficult for people without an understanding of the CLI, to experiment with the software. Overall the A5000 is very good and made my Amiga about 5 times faster !!! Paul.
