Short: A Word Search Game for CNet Amiga 3/4! Author: dotoran@bluemoon.net (david weeks) Uploader: dotoran@bluemoon.net (david weeks) Version: 1.46 Type: comm/cnet Replace: aminet/comm/cnet/cnet_searcher.lha Requires: AmigaOS 2/3.x, CNet Amiga, v3.05c/v4.24h+ Distribution: anywhere, everywhere, please mirror! v1.46 fixes a Word List display problem. Also includes a bit more helpful text while hiding words. v1.45 never officially released. v1.44 fixed a bug where it would lock up if you selected to specify hide directions, then chose NO directions. v1.43 updated for CNet Amiga 4.24g. Includes 41 puzzles and a NEXT/PAST 30 puzzles command now. v1.42 fixes a small bug, as well as allowing for a new, fourth hint type. Beginning users(or seasoned, frustrated, veterans), can opt to see an Answer Grid for the current puzzle. If this Hint Type i s used, then you'll VOID the ability to obtain a High Score upon solving the puzzle. v1.40 fixes a small bug, as well as presenting some new options, including the ability to have a word-list on the same screen as the puzzle. There are NEW puzzles included, including NUMBER puzzles. A Redraw command was added, as well as some variables the SysOp can use to specify the colors to use. v1.20 fixes another small bug, as well as now allowing the user to SAVE a puzzle they're solving for completion at a later date. v1.10 now offers another hint type, where you can view a listing of ALL words used in the puzzle, color coded as to whether or not you found the word, and whether or not the word was SKIPPED. To help battle the possible freezes that might occur if using many words and small dimensions, you can now choose to SKIP hiding the current word, if it seems to be taking too long, or you can choose to STO P hiding the REST of the words. v1.01 fixes a bug where it wouldn't let you choose a 2-digit puzzle number initially. v1.00 of my Word Searcher. This program comes with 16 lists of words the user can choose from. They can then choose a grid size from 14x14 to 18x35 to hide the words in. They can even specify which d irections could be used to hide the words(so if you hate the diagonals, for instance, you can turn them off). Armed with this info, the file flies through hiding the words, then presents the users with a neat ANSI screen. Using ansi cursor keys and the numeric keypad, the user moves around the grid finding t he words. If they're having trouble, they can opt to get 1 of two types of HINTS. The game can tell them the next UNFOUND word, or it can highlight all occurrances of a specific letter. If the user stays with it and completes the entire game, they'll be added to the CHAMPS file for that puzzle. 15 entries exist in each Champs file, which lists the user's handle, the puzzle's dimensi ons, how many directions could have been used to hide the words, as well as how LONG it took them to complete the puzzle, in hours, minutes, and seconds! Instructions on how to add puzzles of your OWN are also included! -- Written by Dotoran of Frontiers -- ============================= Archive contents ============================= Original Packed Ratio Date Time Name -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- ------------- 122 113 7.3% 10-Feb-97 20:24:28 +File_ID.Diz 251 155 38.2% 10-Feb-97 18:47:36 +Puz10 221 140 36.6% 10-Feb-97 18:47:38 +Puz11 226 146 35.3% 10-Feb-97 18:47:40 +Puz12 163 104 36.1% 10-Feb-97 18:47:42 +Puz13 160 102 36.2% 10-Feb-97 18:47:42 +Puz14 23596 7511 68.1% 10-Feb-97 20:39:52 +Searcher 86 63 26.7% 10-Feb-97 18:47:18 +Puz01 89 66 25.8% 10-Feb-97 18:47:20 +Puz02 70 56 20.0% 10-Feb-97 18:47:22 +Puz03 84 65 22.6% 10-Feb-97 18:47:22 +Puz04 116 82 29.3% 10-Feb-97 18:47:24 +Puz05 163 108 33.7% 10-Feb-97 18:47:44 +Puz15 304 191 37.1% 10-Feb-97 18:47:52 +Puz18 1041 628 39.6% 10-Feb-97 20:34:26 +!Puzzles 238 149 37.3% 10-Feb-97 18:47:26 +Puz06 181 119 34.2% 10-Feb-97 18:47:28 +Puz07 212 134 36.7% 10-Feb-97 18:47:30 +Puz08 216 139 35.6% 10-Feb-97 18:47:32 +Puz09 249 154 38.1% 10-Feb-97 18:47:46 +Puz16 146 99 32.1% 10-Feb-97 18:47:48 +Puz17 150 100 33.3% 10-Feb-97 18:47:52 +Puz19 255 156 38.8% 10-Feb-97 18:47:54 +Puz20 284 178 37.3% 10-Feb-97 18:48:16 +Puz31 196 122 37.7% 10-Feb-97 18:48:18 +Puz32 238 151 36.5% 10-Feb-97 18:48:20 +Puz33 141 94 33.3% 10-Feb-97 18:48:22 +Puz34 61 49 19.6% 10-Feb-97 18:48:22 +Puz35 219 141 35.6% 10-Feb-97 18:47:58 +Puz21 226 135 40.2% 10-Feb-97 18:48:00 +Puz22 203 121 40.3% 10-Feb-97 18:48:00 +Puz23 214 135 36.9% 10-Feb-97 18:48:02 +Puz24 298 171 42.6% 10-Feb-97 18:48:24 +Puz36 102 76 25.4% 10-Feb-97 18:48:26 +Puz37 152 103 32.2% 10-Feb-97 18:48:28 +Puz38 125 87 30.4% 10-Feb-97 18:48:04 +Puz25 260 159 38.8% 10-Feb-97 18:48:06 +Puz26 178 116 34.8% 10-Feb-97 18:48:08 +Puz27 238 147 38.2% 10-Feb-97 18:48:10 +Puz28 125 72 42.4% 10-Feb-97 18:48:12 +Puz29 207 110 46.8% 10-Feb-97 18:48:14 +Puz30 172 114 33.7% 10-Feb-97 18:48:30 +Puz39 9557 3707 61.2% 10-Feb-97 20:42:44 +CNetSearcher.HISTORY 7239 3038 58.0% 10-Feb-97 21:07:20 +CNetSearcher.README 444 254 42.7% 10-Feb-97 18:48:32 +Puz40 326 191 41.4% 10-Feb-97 18:48:34 +Puz41 2115 1032 51.2% 10-Feb-97 21:05:18 +Searcher_Update146 2024 940 53.5% 10-Feb-97 20:35:48 +SearcherORG 122 113 7.3% 10-Feb-97 20:24:28 File_ID.Diz -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- 53805 22136 58.8% 12-Feb-97 14:45:58 49 files
