Short: Programmer's picture converter. AGA supported. Type: gfx/conv Author: mortene@idt.unit.no Uploader: mortene@idt.unit.no PicCon is short for Picture Converter. This is a programmer's utility for saving pictures, or parts of pictures, in one of several RAW-formats. The advantages of PicCon over other similar utilities is that it's: * System-friendly (dump that Kefrens IFF-converter!) * AGA-compatible (up to date, the only one which is) * handles all modes correctly, including HAM6, HAM8, EHB and dual playfields * Uses datatypes for loading of pictures (picturefiles can be in any format which you've got the datatype to (like JPEG's and GIF's in addition to the IFF-format)) * Can load pictures of any size, as long as you've got the memory it takes (tested on bitmaps from 20x20 to 1440x5292) * Can save palettes as 4-bits, 8-bits, 32-bits or copperlists (both OCS/ECS and AGA supported) + more * Has RAW save in many formats, including chunky mode, blitterlines, AGA- sprites, workbench icons ++ Cut out from the program history: . . v1.05: - included option to frame parts of picture with fixed-size "box" - added option to save frame(s) as workbench icon v1.06: - improved code on saveoperations (5x faster on bitplanes, interleaved, wbicons and blittermasks, 10x faster planar to chunky conversion) - removed major bug in menuhandling (setting several options by clicking left mousebutton while holding down right button now works) - removed a "bug" in the demoversion which made it impossible to save any palettes at all ("Save as 4-bits" and "Save as LoadRGB4" should work in the demoversion, only AGA-specific modes are left out) - removed some minor bugs . . This is a demoversion. It is partially crippled, as I've removed the code for saving of any AGA specific graphics (you can save OCS/ECS bitmaps and palettes). The requested sharewarefee is $15 (or an equal amount in any other currency, cash only). Be aware that you need KS3.0 or later to use PicCon, as this program uses the datatypes.library. Check it out!
