I always find setting environment variables to be quit irritating, requiring me to open a shell to type out some text in order to set some variables, and then having to copy the variables from ENV: to ENVARC: Tooltypes are a bit easier to handle, but with P96 able to handle multiple graphic boards, manually changing certain tooltypes on the different monitor icon files becomes old quit quickly. Due to the above reasons, I set out to create a 'better mouse trap'. Selection of the P96 variables should be self explanatory, and there is always bubble help to aid in what each selection is for. To exit the program you may hit the close-window gadget, or one of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the window. Closing the window or pressing the @{u}Cancel@{uu} button will exit PVS and discard any changes. This allows the use of audio rates greater then 28 kHz. @{i}Default: 15kHz@{ui} @{u}Direct Colormask@{uu} When set the rastport and blit masks will be respected during blit operations on Hi/TrueColor bitmaps. Try this switch if your card is not working correctly. Can force the board to always or never display a border, or to mimic the normal system setting. @{i}Default: System@{ui} @{u}Big Sprite@{uu} Doubles the size of the pointer sprite (ECS sprite only). @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}Soft Sprite@{uu} Use software sprite emulation in all modes. This will allow the use of more colors in a pointer. Normally a graphics board provides one hardware sprite, which can handle only 2 colors, with a third acting in XOR mode. @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}Ignore Mask@{uu} Will treat masked blits like unmasked ones for speed considerations. This is accomplished by speeding up certain blitter functions on boards. But be warned: this mode is not entirely compatible to the native Amiga graphics system and may produce incorrect results. @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}Display Chain@{uu} If not set, the original Amiga signal will not be switched through when active. Useful for systems with more than one monitor and graphics boards. @{i}Default: Yes@{ui} @{u}No Planar-To-Chunky Blits@{uu} Will use CPU routines instead of on-board blitter for planar-to-chunky blits. Activate this only when absolutely necessay, since it will decrease overall performance. @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}System To Screen Blits@{uu} May improve performance, but may also lead to stability problems. Use this with care. @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}Overclock@{uu} Allows the overclocking of certain graphic boards. Use with caution since this can damage your hardware. @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}Grant Direct Access@{uu} When set to "yes" it prevents bitmaps with different byte swapping requirements to be on the board simultaneously if they cannot be accessed at the same time without reconfiguring the board. When using PIP applications on Zorro-II PicassoIV this tooltype should be set to "no" to allow all combinations of screen and PIP color formats. Use this if you have problems with programs that use direct display memory access without using any locking mechanisms, like ShapeShifter, on Zorro-II Amigas with PicassoIV, or with any Amiga using a CyberVision64 board. @{i}Default: No@{ui} @{u}Memory Clock@{uu} Sets the memory clock (in MHz) of the board within the allowed ranges. Its main intentions are to provide a solution which is as system and software compatible as possible, transparent and reliable. To be that compatible, only the really necessary functions were patched. This results in very high level of compatibility.
