I hope you like my program and find it useful or at least innofensive. This is a small file viewing utility. I've been messing around with the code and interface for years. (What a wasted life!) This is the first version I've released to anyone other than friends. The reason I release it is that I got hold of the FABOO `GUI Amos' by Andrew Fisher. This created a nice interface for me with no more work than reading the guide. Having been utterly amazed at this I decided to rewrite the code of my program and stick the interface on it. Wooahh! Well here it is. Eventually every coder gets around to releasing something. If I'm wrong about my coding being pretty average and you think I'm great and want to make me a decent or decadent living programming then contact me through AF. (Would the last statement be an example of irony?) I suppose I should tell you about the program. It's very simple really. There are buttons and a simple pull down menu. The `Load Mod' button loads Tracker modules. If you play a mod and it sounds funny I'm soory it must be a funny format. (Read Modern) I'm not trying to support anything fancy, just the basics. `Load Med' loads Med type modules. I did have a sample play option but it just beeped loudly. I can't work out why it did that. Perhaps it was one of those Hermits you hear so much about. (Don't worry that didn't make sense.) The ECS picture option will load Lores pictures up to 32 colours and Hires pictures up to 16 colours. The AGA option will load any old picture using an external viewer. I hope that works properly. As I write this I haven't written the code for that bit. To install the program copy the disk or drawer called MFPlayer to your desired destination device. Then write an assign to the device MFPlayer: pointing to where you copied the files. After this it will work fine. The files included in this distibution can be copied anywhere as long as you keep them together. The only stipulation is that assign to MFPlayer: Boy, this is a long document, isn't it. I can't even say I've said much yet. When you decompress a file it goes to ram: You will know it's finished when Multitasking comes back on. I may improve this in a future version? When a picture is displayed press space to return. Please enjoy my software. It's completely free. I program for fun, I'm not great at it and if people like my software at all, I'm delighted and they are welcome to it. I only ask that my name always be attached to this software. Ready for a joke? Q. How many PC's does it take to change three lightbulbs? A. Three. Q. How many Amiga's does it take to change three lightbulbs? A. Just the one with Fast Ram. If you read that joke in an ACI club disk then you know now who wrote it. It may or may not have been `published' I don't know. If not then I may have started a craze. Or not. Isn't that one of those technically clever jokes that aren't actually funny. Hmmm I don't know. Perhaps. Well if this goes on any longer you won't be reading this. I say goodbye to you all and wish you all well. And aren't you glad Gateway bought the Amiga and not ASDA. Oh yes. One more thing. If you click to Workbench then Press `Amiga' `A' twice to get back to the program. I'm not sure why it's twice. Let's just say I didn't do it. I will think about another version. Primarily if this one gets accepted. If I do I'll think hard about more options and formats. I may even Naaah! I have also sent a game to AF, Monkey Child. I'm also thinking about a multimedia title and a sim of an old game. `Board Game'. Ooops. Soory. I also want to tell you that there was an Dms expand option, but it gave an odd drive whirr, crash type bug if you cancelled without selecting a file. I don't get it. Huh! I leave. Sigh with relief. I am not offended. Wooah there! Wait a mo. After only like 30 minutes. I've written the external viewer code. The viewer is Viewtek. (Included) This has to go into your Workbench Utilities Drawer. And also. You are going to need medplayer.library. I have put it on the program disk but if this is on an AFCD then it's probably in the system drawers from where you can copy it. I really doubt you don't have it. It's very common. I think that's all. Thankyou, that is all. Really. Even I must sleep. Or must I???????????
