Hello Amiga owning universe! Firstly, congratulations on loading this document. You are obviously a person of taste. I can see you're just dying to know what Amiga Interactive Guide is aren't you. Well it's the answer to all your dreams (probably). Yes! It's a complete replacement AmigaGuide document providing even more detail about the Amiga and Workbench. It has all the things that you ever wanted to know about Amiga and probably some you didn't. AiG features: Every Amiga ever- past, present and future!! A HUGE Frequently Asked Question section!! A complete guide to Workbench menus, commands, directories and more!! Quite a large guide to Operating Systems!! And more!! An exclamation mark extravaganza!! INSTALLATION To use the installation script you must boot from the device you wish to install it to. If this is not possible then you can either manually install using the directions below or make a HELP: assign to the Locale/Help/ drawer on your chosen installation device. If you want to read the document before you install it simply load the AmigaGuide.Guide file into your favourite AmigaGuide viewer (Multiview, AmigaGuide etc). However, you will not be able to use the search function. This document will be most use to you if you have Workbench 3+. If you are using OS2.0 then it may not install properly. However, as mentioned you can simply read it using your favourite viewer. REQUIREMENTS SearchGuide in the C: directory. An AmigaGuide compatible viewer. As much memory as possible, otherwise the links may be a bit slow to use. Workbench 3 to install the guide HYPERGUIDE If you have HyperGuide installed permanently AiG will function far better as the external links will work. Create a drawer in your boot device called AiGStart. You will now be able to access that directory from the guide using the Directory datatype. This will allow you to load any guides or pictures stored there. Trust me its brilliant. INSTALLATION I have included a simple script to install the files instead of a proper Installer because: A)I don't know how to make Installer files yet. B)I have A level exams in June (next Tuesday in fact), so I really need to do some revision. If you are installing these files manually the AmigaGuide.Guide file needs to be copied to HELP:English/Sys/ and the original AmigaGuide.Guide needs to be renamed AmigaGuide.Old. Read the actual guide file for copyright and restrictions. If you have any suggestions write to the address in the guide. REMEMBER. ONLY FORKS MAKE IT POSSIBLE (Erm. Hidden meaning anyone).
