Herjazz Worms Levels ==================== Who says coverdisks ruin Amiga hardware and software sales? Siren Software can thank Amiga Format's recent CD coverdisks for the £160 Mediavision CD-ROM I bought from them (As well as a few PD companies for various CD orders). Your previous disk based applications pursuaded me I needed a Hard drive, and what use are Word processing packages without a Printer? (Apart from writing this). All these extra hardware obviously eat up more memory, and so a fat cheque for an accelerator/extra ram will soon be in the post. Will also come in handy for the s-l-o-w Dungeon Master 2 which I recently bought. Full marks AF. The mag has recently become thinner, but who cares when there is 10 mags worth on the CD (How about some sort of a correspondents section, wanted items, sales, that sort of thing?). Those Worms levels; "The Cage". Has no good starting places at all. Your worms either start on a cliff face (totally exposed), or caged in circles (more like to kill yerself with bazooka shots than anyone else). The cage part also looks worse than I originally wanted, as I had to enlarge it ("No room for worms", or something). "Ye News". Complete with ramps which rolling mines adore. Also, Mines can sometimes start on the tower. Firing explosive shots at it is sensible. "Skulk". Fall, and you die. Very congested due to lack of starting points. Look at the old woman on the very right of this level; sometimes your worms can start on her arm-pits! "Train". Similar to THE CAGE, except your worms can reach your opponents (And they you). Still not much room for any major explosive weapons usage, so handguns and firepunches are the order of the day here. "TrainStati". Short for TRAINSTATION (Which is what the file is actually called). Suffered more than anything else in the colour reduction needed to do a Worms map. In its original 256 colours, the people looked really sinister (Like everyone looks waiting for trains). If there is any more room on this floppy, I'll include the 256 colour version for anyone who wants to try and make a better job. Sorry that all the levels are in shades of grey. Eight colours (Minus a few compulsory colours- pink, for gods sake) does not leave much room for serious experimenting. Anyone interested in using my graphics in a game or something, contact me. These worms levels are quickly compiled from scans of a few pieces from a collection of hundreds of illustrations that I do. I'm a final year Graphics (Illustration) student at Liverpool University, (Hopefully) going onto a Masters next year.
