I hope you enjoy using this program for a long time to come. This product is in continuous development and I have many ideas and options to implement in the future. If you use Nucleus regularly, and would like the added option of using Images in your creations, then please support the future of this product by filling in the Registration Form and send it to Pixel Digital, along with the Registration Fee of £15. Unfortunately, for the time being, Nucleus will only work on AGA machines. All the problems with WB2 are being eliminated and an ECS compatible version will be available very soon. This only applies to the main program. Any executables you create should work fine on WB2. If you come across any problems with Nucleus, please contact either Pixel Digital or the author and explain what the problem is in as much detail as possible and give details of what system you are using. Likewise, if you have any suggestions for improvements, I would like to hear your views. All mail WILL be replied. Conditions Of Use: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 1. Any Computer Magazines wishing to use this for their coverdisks must send a copy of the magazine(s) to the author. 2. Any person(s) wishing to use this program to create any kind of interface for use on a CD must send a copy of the CD to the author. @ENDNODE @NODE Requirements "Requirements" Nucleus requires... the following libraries to be placed in the LIBS: directory diskfont.library v36 iffparse.library v37 amigaguide.library v34 reqtools.library v38 and the following font to be placed in the FONTS: directory... Distribution & Marketing: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Pixel Digital Unit 6 Laurel Business Centre 15 Laurel Rd Liverpool 7 Merseyside England 0151-259-4017 @ENDNODE @NODE CLI "CLI" Nucleus can be run from the CLI/Shell with the following template... Format: Nucleus [SETTINGS ] Template: Nucleus "SETTINGS/K,FILE" Example: Nucleus SETTINGS Example.prefs Example.mnu @ENDNODE @NODE Workbench "Workbench" Nucleus can be run from the Workbench. Only one tooltype is available presently. * SETTINGS This will load the settings you require. Example: SETTINGS=Nucleus.prefs If Nucleus is started from a project icon it will first attempt to read a settings option from there. If that fails it will then try and read a settings option from Nucleus. @ENDNODE @NODE Options "Main Window" This is the first window you will see upon loading Nucleus. From here, you can select what attributes you would like for your screen and/or window. Note: If your Edit Window is open, it will not be updated until you select "Edit Window" again. This is the only window that does not immediately update any changes you have made. Screen Type: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Decide whether you want to use an exising Workbench Screen or Create your own. If you opt for Workbench Screen, you will not be able to alter the palette, and any screen font you have selected will not be used. Screen Mode: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Choose the Screen Mode you require. Please note that if you choose a monitor that is not standard on your Amiga (UK Amigas default to PAL, US Amigas default to NTSC) you must have that monitor installed before running any Executable Menus saved with this program. If you double-click on the Screen Mode you require, the Maximum window size will be set. Overscan: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ I would suggest you leave this option on either Text or Standard unless you are absolutely sure you need a larger screen. Maximum & Video can use up to 100k more Chip Mem than standard screens. Number Of Colours: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This option will also affect how much memory is consumed. Try and keep the number of colours as low as possible. Titles: ¯¯¯¯¯¯ Enter the text you would like to see on the Screen and Window Title Bars. Window Options: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Choose the following gadgets/attributes you want for your Edit Window. Close Gadget.. Adds a Close Gadget to the top left hand corner of your window Depth Gadget.. Adds a Depth Gadget to the top right corner of your window DragBar.. Adds a DragBar to the window so that you can move it around BackDrop.. This turns the Window into a BackDrop Window. You will have no Sizing or Depth control over the window with this option selected. Your window will always be behind all other window. Zoom Gadget.. Adds a Zoom Gadget to the top left of the window Size Right.. Adds a Sizing Gadget to the bottom right hand corner of your window with a window bar on the right. Size Bottom.. Adds a Sizing Gadget to the bottom right hand corner of your window with a window bar on the bottom. Borderless.. This prevents any borders being used around your window. I recommend that you use this option with BackDrop (see above), and unselect any of the other window options above. Be careful using any size window other than the Maximum available as you will not be able to see Screen Options: ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Choose the following gadgets/attributes you want for your Edit Screen. DefPubScreen.. Setting this option will force any programs you run to open on your own screen instead of Workbench. This will cancel the "Private" option when selected. Private.. Setting this option will prevent any other programs opening on your screen. This will cancel the "DefPubScreen" option when selected. Quiet.. Set this if you don't want a Title Bar on your screen. This will also prevent you from using any Menus you have set up. Show Title.. This is used in conjunction with the "BackDrop" option (see above). If set the Screen Title bar will be seen, otherwise it will remain hidden behind your window. Be careful not to use too many Images per Menu as they increase the size of your executable enormously. Take a look at the Nucleus.exe example on the disk. That saves out at over 300K. I did consider adding some kind of compression to the executables, but decided against it, for the time being anyway. You would be better using CrunchMania or PowerPacker to keep the size down.
