The HATFIELDs find themselves in a most unusual feud.
They are in the midst of a SLUG invasion.

The plants grow randomly, which makes it difficult for
both sides to get enough food.   The SLUGs normally sit
in a pile of plants, but the random growth pattern doesn't
form piles.    The HATFIELD run around quite a bit, which
burns precious energy rather quickly.
