THE INSTANT GRAPHICS & SOUND EDITOR Version 1.4 UPDATE: ======= Well, just when we think we are getting somewhere, there creeps up another problem. However, I think we are definitely on track now! The scrolling problem experienced in the earlier versions was due to a linefeed that we so gracesously put into the program for appearance reasons. Little did we know that the Carrage Return and the Linefeed was a bad combination for the IGS Emulator and the Accessory. The Emulator and the Accessory are designed to strip off the carrage returns, but not the linefeeds. Those of you that were experienced enough with the IGS command codes, knew enough to get in there with a text editor to delete those little nasties out. This saved all the work you did with the Editor. For those of you just getting started in Instant Graphics/Sound, I applogize. This was a real inconvience for you! However, with all the input and tips. We have come up with a version I think can be safely passed around now. I will be uploading this version personally to GEnie. For those of you that used the Text Editors to straighten out the IGS Editor's mess, I have some bad news for you. Since I had to strip the linefeeds off of the file, all IGS command codes will now be on one extremely long line, if you were to view your work with a text editor that is. The IGS COMPRESS tool will compact the code just like command stacking. Thus making your overall size considerably smaller. Of course now there should be no reason to use the Text Editor unless you wish to make some changes that would otherwise be impossible to get back to with the IGS Editor. I know this is distasteful, but there was not other conceivable way. I have tested pictures done with the IGS Editor with the Emulator online and the Accessory and the picture came accross with flying colors everytime! (Not to mention SOUND!) For those of you getting this IGS Editor for the first time, there should have been a IGS TUTOR file to go along with it, to show you all the various features of the IGS Editor. In closing remarks, I hope now that we can see some rightous BBS menus and look forward to seeing any demos you care to upload and share! The INSTANT GRAPHICS/SOUND Crossnet Conference will be open soon. So that we can share tips, files, demos concerning what we are doing in the NEW IGS world! Enjoy! Anthony S.
