                               6    SAMPLE MAPS

              We  have  included  several  sample  maps on the program
         disk.  To  load a map from the disk select "Load..." from the
         File  menu.   An  Item Selector dialog will appear.  Click on
         the  name of the map you want to load, then click on the "OK"
         button. The map will appear in the window in a few seconds.


              There  are  three  conical  projections  of  the  United
         States,  one  for each screen resolution. Be sure to load the
         one  for the resolution you are using. If you load a map that
         was  created  with  another  resolution  you  will get a very
         peculiar  picture  in the window. The names of the three maps
         are:

             USALOW.PI1 - low resolution (16 color)
             USAMED.PI2 - medium resolution (4 color)
             USAHIGH.PI3 - high resolution (monochrome)
