3/5/90 Notes for KAWAIK1 Profile: System Exclusive must naturally be enabled for anything to work. Make sure Program Changes are enabled on the K-1. There is no edit buffer in the K-1, so patches are sent to location d-8 for editing, and a program change must be sent after each patch is sent in order to activate the sound. The same is true for both Multi and Single patches. The Program Change is also sent when switching between modes to switch the K-1 into the proper mode. (The edit buffer is D-8 for Multi Patches) Try not to use location d-8 in a Multi patch, unless you intentially want to use it while you tweak Single patch parameters - jumping back and forth to hear how the edited patch sounds in the Multi patch. Note that there is never any clear choice for receive channel in the Multi patch screen. The best way to control the mouse channel is manually in this case (function keys). This version of the K-1 Profile corrects a couple of minor bugs, and one ommision (Multi patch volume). It also re-arranges the Multi patch screen once again - this time I think I'm on the right track, even though part of the screen is organized left to right and part is top to bottom.
