All commands may be abbreviated to their first letter. MOVE - Move Enterprise Course : 3 4 / 2 \ / / 5 ---+--- 1 / / \ 6 / 8 7 Warp Factor : One quadrant is equal to a Warp Factor of 1 One sector is equal to a Warp Factor of .125 Notes : Moving into another quadrant or moving within a quadrant with a warp factor equal to or greater than 1 uses one stardate. When the engines are damaged, the maximum warp factor is 0.2. A course of 0 (zero) will abort the MOVE command, and a Warp Factor of 0 will prompt again for Course. Running into Stars, Starbases, or Klingons is not too bright!! TORPEDOS - Fire Photon Torpedo Course : Same as the Move command Notes : Stars and Starbases can also be destroyed with Photon Torpedos. Exploding stars will damage your shields. A torpedo course of 0 aborts this command. PHASERS - Fire Phasers Units to fire : Units of available energy to fire at Klingons Notes : Phasers cannot destroy Stars or Starbases. Klingons start with 200 units of energy on their shields. The damage your phasers do are proportional to the distance of the Klingons from the Enterprise. Phasers may destroy more than one klingons at a time. Phaser coverage includes the entire quadrant and stars between the Enterprise and the Klingons have no effect on the Phasers. A response of 0 units to fire aborts this command. SHIELDS - Energize Deflector Shields Units to Shields : Units of total energy for Deflector Shields Notes : If your Shield energy falls below zero, you're dead. Maximum Shield energy is 700 units. COMPUTER - Ship's Computer Course/Torpedo : Type C to get course data, T to get torpedo data. RE-DRAW DISPLAY - Re-draw the display. DELAY MULTIPLIER - Change speed of game using factor of 0 to 9. QUIT - Terminate the game. D I S P L A Y S _______________ Long Range Scan - This display summarizes the conditions in the quadrant in which the Enterprise is currently located, and in the eight adjacent quadrants. The Enterprise is always located in the center of the Long Range Scan. The numbers indicate: Units digit - Number of Stars Tens digit - Number of Starbases Hundreds digit - Number of Klingons If the Enterprise is on the edge of the galaxy, zeros are displayed in the long range scan for non-existant quadrants. Short Range Scan - This display shows the condition in the quadrant in which the Enterprise is currently located. The symbols are: Division Sign - Enterprise * - Star B - Starbase Graphic X - Klingon The quadrant is divided into 64 sectors, eight rows by eight columns. These are numbered to the right and beneath the display. Galactic Record - This display is similar to the long range scan except that it displays the entire galaxy. Quadrants that have not yet been Long Range Scanned are displayed with zeros. The galaxy is divided into 64 quadrants, eight rows by eight columns. These are numbered to the left and beneath the display. Status - This display contains the following information: Stardate - The current stardate Condition - "Red" : Klingon in quadrant "Green" : No klingon in quadrant "Docked": Enterprise docked at Starbase Quadrant - The row and column number of the quadrant which the Enterprise is located Sector - The row and column number of the sector in which the Enterprise is located Energy - Energy remaining for Moving and Phasers Torpedos - Photon Torpedo remaining Shields - Units of energy remaining for Deflector Shields Klingons - Klingons remaining in galaxy Commands - This display is used to request input and display output. Damage Control - This display gives the current condition of the various equipment on the Enterprise. A number that is equal to or greater than zero means that the device is currently functional. A negative number means that the device is not currently functional. Each time that the Enterprise is moved, the state of damaged devices improves by one unit. Each time the Enterprise is shot at there is a 30% probability that a device may get damaged. EOF
