ÚÄÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÄ¿ ³ ÜÜÜ ³ ³ Û Û ³ ³ ÛÜÜß mail DeLuxeý³ March 4th, 1991 ³ ß ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Welcome to the release of Qmail DeLuxeý v1.10! If you have already registered your Qmail DeLuxeý reader then you may update your reader system from these files. You do not need pay any additional registration fees in order to use this release. This file contains a list of fixes and new features. This file is in addition to the DELUXE2.DOC file. If you are new to Qmail DeLuxeý we recommend that you browse through this file and read DELUXE2.DOC in order to learn how to use Qmail DeLuxeý. There may be some confusion between Qmail DeLuxeý v1.10 and the earlier Qmail DeLuxe 1.xx readers. DeLuxeý (DeLuxe TWO) is indeed a different system than the original DeLuxe 1.xx releases. Please leave any comments or suggestions to QMAIL SUPPORT in your local Qmail Support conference. Thanks! --- Sparky ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ þ The reader now adjusts the number of conferences reserved in memory to the number of conferences required by the BBS. This helps cut down on the large amount of RAM required to support 2,500 conferences. Qmail DeLuxeý can now support up to 3,855 conferences! þ Built-in mouse support. If you would like to use your mouse then use the command "DELUXE2 /M" to start the reader. The LEFT button will work like pressing [ENTER] and the right button works like pressing the [ESC] key. We've included a new DLXTEXT file that contains two new entries to support the internal mouse. Please copy this file over your current entry. Please note that the configuration utility does not support use of the mouse. þ Mouse support for left-handed users. We didn't forget you "lefties"!!! Just use the command line switch "/ML" instead of "/M" to add left-hand mouse support. þ If you are using a mouse you can now access a "virtual" keyboard from practically anywhere within the reader. Just press BOTH mouse buttons together (or, if you have a three button mouse, press the middle button) and select which letter you need. þ DeLuxeý now supports ANSI music! If you do not want to hear ANSI music just turn NOISE off from inside the configuration's "Flags" area. You can also stop ANSI music from being played in the current message by tapping the [ESC] key once. Allow a few seconds for the music buffer to finish playing the current bars. þ The DOS command box (displayed when you execute a DOS command) has been changed to simply white text on a black background. This was done so you can easily use high-intensity backgrounds from inside the reader. þ You may now specify more than one file extension mask on the command line. The reader always looks for "*.Q*" files in your packet subdirectory. But you can now use commands like: DELUXE2 *.Q* *.ZX* *.ZIP And the reader will locate all Qmail Door 4.00 mail packets, mail packets from the XRS mail system for Fidonet systems, and PCBoard .CAP files that have been downloaded using the command "R A Z" from PCBoard. þ The reader now supports "snow checking" for CGA monitors. Use the command: DELUXE2 /SNOW to turn snow checking ON. þ Fixed a bug where messages you replied to in the PERSONAL conference would always be redirected to the MAIN conference. þ Fixed a bug in SuperShell that would prevent Qmail DeLuxeý from working as a "shelled process" from either RoboComm or QMM. þ You may now "unlock" your message headers and scroll the entire message screen at one time. þ The "/ABS" flag would not work in previous versions of the reader. Fixed. þ Added support for three new @variables in the reader. These variables are: @TO@ - Replaced with the "TO" field in a message @FROM@ - Replaced with the "FROM" field in a message @SUBJECT@ - Replaced with the "SUBJECT" field in a message. þ You can now add these entries into your DELUXE2.4 menu and have the reader reply to the recipient of the message. See the new DELUXE2.4 menu file included. þ The reader will now automatically create the correct Usenet message headers if you reply to messages created by the Sparkware PCB/Usenet gateway. The reader also positions the message text so the first lines of the message are shown skipping the routing information (you can press the [HOME] key to see it if needed). þ Qmail DeLuxeý now loads conferences from CONTROL.DAT faster than previous versions. þ Qmail DeLuxeý will now let you archive messages using file extensions and save them in other subdirectories. If you do not specify a file extension then the reader uses ".TXT". If you do not specify a subdirectory then the reader will save the message in the ARCHIVES subdirectory. þ Qmail DeLuxeý now lets you archive messages into a database program. If you create a batch in your Qmail DeLuxeý subdirectory named "ARCHIVE.BAT" then the reader will export the current message to "EXPORT.TXT" and call this batch file passing the export filespec as the first parameter. This feature allows third party developers to create custom database archiving software that easily interfaces with the Qmail DeLuxeý reader. If you are learning more about how the reader uses this feature feel free to contact us. The file format for EXPORT.TXT is located in DELUXE2.DOC under message exporting. ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ These new features will be supported by Qmail DeLuxeý shortly. We are finishing up work on a program named "CVT" that provides you with these new features. Check 'em out: þ Qmail DeLuxeý v1.10 has the ability to read and reply to messages produced by the XRS offline mail system for FidoNet compatible systems. þ Qmail DeLuxeý can also read and reply to messages created by PCBoard's own "message capture" facility. You can use this feature to read messages on PCBoards that do not yet own a Qmail Door of their own. While not as "slick" as using a Qmail Door to process your mail, this system does work and is virtually "seamless" to the user.
