Learning about DISK SPOOL II ---------------------------- There are several ways to learn about DISK SPOOL II. First, read the document SP2.DOC. Secondly, there is context sensitive HELP text available by taking the HELP option from any tier of the pop-up menu. A third way to get to know the product is to read the parameter descriptions at the bottom of the configuration program (SP2CFG.COM). There are 4 versions of DISK SPOOL II contained in this diskette: SP2 - The full functioning version. SP2S - This version takes up less memory than SP2, and does not have the Timing Tests functions, or the ability to monitor the COMx ports for trapping data coming in from external sources. SP2SS - A smaller version yet. In this version, the ability to view the contents of files from within the pop-up menu is not present. SP2SSS - The smallest version (only takes up about 17k once loaded). With this version, you don't have the pop-up menu. Note, however, that most of the pop-up menu functions can be performed from the command line, so you still have a good deal of control. Please note: the same configuration program is run for all 4 versions -- SP2CFG. You select which version you are working with from an initial menu. One Last Note ------------- If you want to print a text file from DOS. Use my SP2PRT.COM program. It works better than using DOS' TYPE or COPY commands. Example: SP2PRT sp2.doc lpt1. This command will print the file sp2.doc to lpt1. Good luck, and happing spooling.
