WHAT'S NEW IN CON>FORMAT 1.03 AND 1.04 It's been really great to get all kinds of suggestions for ways to improve the usability of Con>Format. In Version 1.03, we've added a new installation option to produce a tone instead of or in addition to bringing up a window telling you how the current format came out. If you select just the tone, a high, medium or low tone is sounded to tell you that the diskette you just formatted had: * No errors (High tone) * Some flawed areas (Medium tone) * A fatal error of some kind, making the result unusable. (A low tone) These tones are very distinctive. When you next hit your "hot key" combination, the status window will be displayed. If you select both windows and tone, Con>Format will operate just as previous versions did, but it will give you the tones in addi- tion to the displays. Choosing window only gives you the same operating mode as previous versions. When Con>Format displays its window, you may move it around with the cursor keypad; each key moves the window as follows: 7 - Upper left corner 9 - Upper right corner 1 - Lower left corner 3 - Lower right corner 5 - Center of screen 8 - One line up 2 - One line down 4 - One column left 6 - One column right For those of you who requested that Con>Format continue format- ting when a new diskette is inserted, you should know that, while this can be done, we're not yet convinced of the reliability (or safety) of this approach. We'll continue to make impreovments in the operation and ap- pearance of Con>Format; in the meantime, enjoy. Con>Format now supports secondary diskette adapters. Check the documentation for details. ---------------------------- If you're already a registered user of Con>Format, we'll send you a registered update for only $2.50--which covers our cost of materials and nothing more.
