F1 Display Zoomed Image When toggled [ON], this option displays a zoom-in and a full-view of the image just scanned. The zoom-in view is on the left side of the screen. Users can pan around the scanned image using the arrow keys on the numeric pad. The full view display on the right shows the complete scanned image. This portion of the display is used in Page Zoning for zoom and cut images. F2 Scan Pass This toggle key allows users to scan up to 9 consecutive vertical scan passes on the same page which can be stitched back together into one file using the Text Merging option. When scan at 200 dpi resolution, make sure there is at least 1/2" overlaping on sequential passes for text merging to work properly. If scanning at higher resolution, more overlaping is required. F3 Scan Direction This is a toggle selection to specify the scanning direction for the Hand Scanner. If the Scan Direction is set on [Left-to-Right Scan], the software will rotate the graphics image by 90 degrees after being pulled in. F4 Graphics Elimination When toggled [ON], the CAT Reader will eliminate all the graphics, such as vertical rules or pictures, in the image during scanning. F5 Scan Image as : This option activates the Hand Scanner to scan an image. Default image filenames TEXT1.TIF, TEXT2.TIF, TEXT3.TIF, ... etc will be given in sequence according to the number of Scan Pass specified. All image files are just working files which will not be needed once the text is converted into ASCII. You MUST keep these default filenames for AUTOMATIC text merging to work properly.
