The beginning menu:
Upon loading the game, a
player is presented with this
initial menu.  There are five
choices:

1. Journey Onward
This option allows a player
to begin game play.  The
current party is taken from
the last saved position.  It
is important to note that a
party must consist of 4
members in order to journey
onward.

2. Character options:
This option will lead to
another menu consisting of 5
related options.  These
options include character
creation and party mainten-
ance.  To use these options,
a game must be saved within
the wilderness or within one of
the two cities.  For more infor-
mation, refer to f4:Character
menu.

3. View Beginning:
This option will show the
beginning animation/story.

4. On-line manual:
This is what you are currently
using.

5. exit to dos:
This option will end game play
and return the player to dos.
However, this option does not
save the game.   Any changes
to the party are lost if you
have not previously saved the
game or journeyed onward.
