MONOPLY- THE GUILTWARE VERSION by Jesse Welsh and Nublet Productions the obligatory README.1ST Included Files/Guiltware information - System requirements- just a 80286 or better, a VGA (or better) monitor, and the standard 640K of RAM should be all you need. - MONOGLT.ZIP should contain the following: SANS.CHR......font file LITT.CHR......font file TRIP.CHR......font file VGAEGA.BGI....binary graphics file MONOPLY.ICO...Windows icon MONO.CFG......configuration file MONOCFG.EXE...edits game speed/sound configuration MONOGLT.EXE...the game README.1ST....you're soaking in it! - All of these files are vital to the game and if any are missing, the game will not start up. In addition, since this is the GUILTWARE version, you are entitled to enjoy this game for up to 90 days after which point the game will not run. To order the registered version, just send $5.00 (U.S.) to: Jesse Welsh c/o Nublet Productions 683 route 1 Scarborough, Me. 04074 - Make checks payable to Jesse Welsh, orders should be received in about 4-6 weeks. The registered version, which includes trading, game load and save features, ability to select up to 4 players and their attributes, (computer or human) and a couple of cheats can be yours for this wicked low price. Playing Tips/Instructions - Since this is the guiltware version, you cannot change the number of players or whether or not they are human or computer. - You can't mortgage properties with houses on them and vice-versa. You can trade mortgaged properties, but they will remain mortgaged- the new owner must pay off the mortgage. - When buying houses, you must: 1) own all the properties of that color, 2) you are required to build evenly, i.e. each property must have the same number of houses on it. - Arrow keys and highlighted (i.e. [R]oll would mean 'R' can be used) keys can be used in all menus except when trading or mortgaging. These only allow use of the arrow keys. The ESCAPE key can be used in most menus to go back and can be used at the main menu to leave the game. - If you go bankrupt at any point, you have until the end of your turn to get out of the hole. (by mortgaging or making trades) If you're still in the hole at the end of your turn, all your holdings (props, houses) are taken by the bank and put up for sale. - The game ends when all human players have lost. (the computer players really don't care which of THEM win.) - Computer players don't accept trades. (#@*@! electronic jerks!) - Game loading and saving are only available in the registered version. - Any payments made to chance, community chest, income tax, luxury tax, or to get out of jail will add to the Free Parking jackpot. Hopefully, everything else is pretty self-explanitory, I know how annoyingly insulting these readme files can sometimes be. Enjoy the game, and I, of course, encourage you to register. A starving college student has to work pretty hard for cash, and it'd be nice to get some off this time-usurping project.
